Our 10 acre cultural campus in located in the Milks Camp Community of the Rosebud Reservation. Milks Camp is the first community of Sicangu Lakota people in the area which was founded before the current reservation. Our Lakota ancestors have lived off of this land for hundreds of year. We would love to share our history with you! We are excited share the rich history of our people along with sightings of wild life, water activities as we are close to both the Niobrara and Missouri rivers, and even cultural make and takes projects.

Site 1 - Authenic Lakota Tipi Stays

Beautiful peaceful spot with access to a bathroom and kitchen. We enjoyed exploring the area and relaxing in the tipi. Marla was a great host!

Authenic Lakota Tipi Stays

Peace and quiet

I loved how quiet the site was . The only noise was cows mooing and coyotes howling. There was some construction noise one afternoon but it didn’t bother me. I also loved walking up the hill through the prairie to the garden and the chickens, the view from up there is fabulous! I booked a walking tour and an archery lesson. There are many medicinal plants growing on the prairie. Marla is being taught what they are and what they are used for. I’m sure this particular tour will only get better as she and her staff acquire more knowledge. I loved my archery lesson! Charlie helped reacquaint me with my bow that I hadn’t used in years. He also let me shoot a traditional native long bow that is made in the old ways, all the while telling me interesting stories and encouraging me. There is an interesting selection of books available if an afternoon of reading is what you crave. Sleeping in the tipi with a buffalo hide as a blanket was actually very comfortable!

Nous avons déçus par les prestations peu conformes avec le site a savoir 2 tipis proches des bâtiments et du parking alors que les photos montrent des tipis en pleine nature Cuisine très sale Pas de prestations avec des chevaux comme précisé sur le site également et globalement Très décevant

Authenic Lakota Tipi Stays

A truly unique experience

We enjoyed learning about Lakota culture and staying in such a quiet, remote area that we would not have had access to otherwise. Stargazing from the hill above the camp was wonderful, the dogs who adopted us were very sweet, and our hostess Lauren was very informative and welcoming. We had a great time!
