Solitude Mountain Resort
Ski resort
Solitude Mountain Resort is nestled in the Big Cottonwood Canyon of the Wasatch Mountains in Utah, known for its impressive snowfall, averaging around 500 inches annually, which contributes to excellent skiing conditions throughout the season typically running from late November to early April. The resort offers a variety of terrain that caters to all skill levels, including beginner-friendly slopes and more challenging runs for advanced skiers. While Solitude does not have a dedicated terrain park, it does boast 80 named runs and three bowls to explore. The resort is also known for its backcountry access, with certain areas available for those seeking off-piste adventures. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts can enjoy 20 kilometers of Nordic trails. However, there is no night skiing available at Solitude. The lift system includes 8 lifts, ensuring that skiers and snowboarders can move around the mountain efficiently. The views from the resort are stunning, with panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains. Solitude is considered family-friendly, with ski and snowboard schools available for learners of all ages. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, the resort offers other winter activities such as ice skating, snowshoeing, and Nordic skiing. While there are no dedicated snow tubing, snowmobiling, or sledding areas at Solitude, the focus on a serene mountain experience is evident in the resort's name and atmosphere.
