Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound. We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land. There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails. Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps. It is a marsh, not a lake. Google Earth shows it better. There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :) This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave. Please note that in the winter months. There’s a $25 surcharge. This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush. We are in a snow belt area and it is very difficult to keep the sites open in the winter. Four-wheel-drive is required for access in the winter!

A piece of heaven is what awaits you here. If you're looking for privacy your search is over. Imagine having your own island you reach by walking across the 15 metre bridge with a few areas to set up your tent(s) from where you'll fall asleep listening to the sound of the spring flowing into the pond, what bliss. The other site has a large rectangular pond of its own to ensure everyone has privacy. Your drinking water comes from Mother Nature, not a well, true spring water that's icy cold and so refreshing.. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim. We are located 10 minutes away from the town of Hanover and the Allan Park Conservation is right beside us and has numerous walking and off road bicycling trails. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is. Our property offers beautiful scenery, virtual privacy, you see glimpses of our home, peace and tranquility with the backdrop of Mother Nature to be heard, geese, wild turkeys, deer, lots of songbirds, coyotes and oh yes, our big friendly lovable er be spectaular and later the stars twinkle above and maybe you'll even see a satellite high above while you're stargazing. Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us upon arrival, as we are a forestry managed property. An outhouse is a pleasant walk within minutes of the site. Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Ray will keep you supplied with fresh spring water for drinking. New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, two single person floats, and a hammock for your added enjoyment. There are numerous things to do within a 15 minute drive. A couple dams, 2 conservation parks, drive-in theatre, casino, horse racing, small stock car racing track (great for young kids), two local breweries, a busy local butcher and the Saugeen River. With more destinations as you move outward. We promise you won't be disappointed and can't wait to share our piece of Heaven with you. There are four acres of woods to explore right beside Townsend Lake, a small, quiet lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The lake warms up quickly in the spring and is great to swim in. There is a cabin to sleep in and many camping items are provided, like a Coleman stove, tables, dishes, and a screen shelter. You will have access to the dock and a large fire pit area which are part of the owner’s cottage on the property. There will be a port-a-potty on site. Lake Townsend is close to several conservation areas and 12 minutes to the quaint town of Markdale with several shops, a bakery, and a large grocery store. The city of Owen Sound is 35 minutes away. Harrison Park and Inglis Falls are huge attractions in the area. Each area has its own beauty and the hiking path between the two is quite spectacular. Parts of the famous hiking trail, The Bruce Trail, are also easily accessible from Townsend Lake. But once you get settled in, you may just want to rest and relax at the lake! We had a great time staying at Camp Kyle. Natalie was very friendly and inviting. The Cabin and outhouse were very clean. There was an outdoor kitchen available with propane burners/grill. Great for heating up or making a meal. A large fire pit and plenty of outdoor space surrounded by a beautiful landscape. The wood stove inside the cabin was a perfect addition as we were able to stay warm during the night. Thank you for sharing your land with us.

Our visit to the Stillwater Bunkie was a great few days! We had private access to a lake, a well-maintained firepit and composting toilet, and a cozy bunkie. Despite being out at the Bunkie in mid-November, we were able to keep very warm inside the Bunkie with the wood burning stove and the provided propane heater. The Bunkie and property came stocked with lots of thoughtful supplies (ex some basic dishes and cutlery, water for washing dishes and 4L of drinkable water per day, blankets, pillows, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, BBQ, firewood, marshmallow roasting sticks, axe, etc). The sofa bed and loft bed were very comfortable! The use of the fridge in their garage and a portable power station in the Bunkie are huge bonuses that many other listings don't provide. The listing mentioned an outdoor shower which we thought would be working but wasn't connected. Not a big deal for a few days but it definitely changed how we planned to keep clean and fresh. Colin was very easily accessible via messaging on this app and was quick to provide any extra supplies we required during our stay (for example, a garbage bin as listed in their welcome/info binder provided inside the Bunkie). Overall, we enjoyed our time out at the Stillwater Bunkie and I would recommend it to others! See

Lovely little cabin. Well-insulated, and has a wood stove. Doesn't take much fire to warm the place up. The main cabin has three single-bed cots plus a single bed mattress in the loft, but know there is very little headroom up there. Probably more suitable for a child. There's a table and four chairs. The plane has room for an adult or a couple of kids to set up sleeping bags. Very quiet. Didn't hear a thing aside from the wind in the trees. Just what I wanted for a Hallowe'en camping weekend. The outhouse is clean and as nice as an outhouse can be. Watch out for the dogs on the way in. They're friendly cuties, but don't seem car-smart, so drive extra slowly.

Firstly, Rick was the best host. Informative, responsive but left us to our own devices. My partner and I were looking for somewhere functional and secluded and this property hit all the marks. We stayed there with our 3 large dogs and were able to explore trails onsite that were easily accessible and intuitive. There's also a great clearing in the marsh where we were able to catch some shooting stars! The first night we stayed in the smaller cabin, which was a dreamy little slice of rustic bliss. Second night we stayed at the unique plane crash site - overall has more space and access to the plane worked as a perfect refuge to shelter from the elements, while conveniently placed steps away from the warmth of our campfire. Clearly both sites are treated with care, clean and filled No doubt, will be back.

I had such a wonderful time glamping here! The place was beautiful, comfortable, and surrounded by nature — a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Their friendly approach really made the stay feel extra special! I loved the friendly chickens roaming around, adding a cute countryside touch. My partner and I stayed at Emily’s Yurt this past thanksgiving weekend 2025 as a last minute booking. Emily accommodated our stay and was very quick to respond. The yurt was stunning, we’ve stayed at many hip camps and this was by far the best experience. From a eco friendly outhouse with a wood chip system, very clean and well stocked with necessities. The yurt had all supplies needed, along with many games and other activities to do. Can’t thank Emily enough for sharing her beautiful property and being so welcoming.

Very close to all the great stuff available at this part of Bruce peninsula. We share our backyard with our guests, we are very close to everything that Bruce county has to offer, port Elgin, Southampton, golf courses, different accesses to saugeen river where u can go fishing canoeing, tubing etc., supermarkets, native reserve, sauble beach and dozens of other ones…all at max 15 minutes distance… in the property you will find everything u need for a peaceful stay, hard to describe everything you will find but u can read our reviews, some of them have beautiful descriptions of what is here for you, you must love animals, since we have our pets all around, u are also super welcome to bring yours. One of the high points of here is the interaction u will have with the pets, they are all super friendly and will play with u every time they see u, they believe u r here for them, between, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits etc they will be part of your stay, this is theyr home, u r theyr guests, that’s how they think, so u must be a pet lover. Once upon a time this property consisted of an 18 acre apple orchard and a 10 acre Maple Sugar bush with evidence of it scattered about the property.  I have owned the property for over 16 years now, and moved here from Toronto about 4 years ago, living in nature has become my life.  The property is full of Wild life and history.  The 18 acre orchard was turned into a white pine forest about 40 years ago and has recently been thinned out to promote healthy growth.  Bee hives have recently become part of the life that exists here.  The area is surrounded by a Mennonite community and the Amish are also within a 15 minute drive from here.  On the map you will see that this property is a part of the original Queen's bush.  The highest point in the township with amazing views all around.  Here to enjoy and experience for all.Learn more about this land:64 acres of forests, a pond and an open field filled with wildflowers, butterflies and a vast variety of Birds. Learn more about this land:This comfortable and spacious yurt is located on the 30-acre property of the historic Paisley Mill along the Teeswater river. With three large windows, a dome skylight, and wool felt insulation, the yurt provides a wonderful "glamping" experience. There is a double bed and a single bed in the yurt along with a cooler, table, chairs, and storage space. In the future there will be solar power, but right now the lighting available is by a battery powered lantern (provided). Next to the yurt is a picnic table, fire pit, and a sawdust toilet. There are some nice beaches suitable for swimming within a 15-20 minute drive. Sauble Beach is best for a swim and to watch the sunset from. We are located 10 minutes from Wiarton, 20 minutes from Sauble Beach and 1 hour from Tobermory. At the southwestern base of the Bruce Peninsula, MacGregor Point Provincial Park offers visitors long walks along the lakeshore, looped hiking trails, and an opportunity for winter camping and activities. Easy to reach from Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, and London, MacGregor Point is a haven for birders, who arrive to catch the migrations in spring and fall, and admire the wetland birds all summer long.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for sunsets: Algonquin Campground features a short trail to Sunset Point, where you can watch the day disappear over the horizon of Lake Huron.
  • Best for hikers: Huron Campground is closest to the two looped hiking trails: the Lake Ridge Trail (2.5 hours) and the Tower Trail (1.5 hours), which is partly wheelchair accessible.
  • Best for swimmers: Nippissing Campground is right near Camper’s Beach and features a handful of double sites for larger families.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Bookings can be made online or by phone through Ontario Parks.
  2. The park has a limited number of wheelchair-accessible campsites.
  3. Unlike many parks, MacGregor Point has busy times in spring and fall because of the bird migrations. Unless you’re visiting in winter, it’s best to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
  4. Staying in one of the 16 year-round yurts makes winter camping easier. These structures can sleep up to six people.

When to go

While most Ontario parks shut down over winter, there are great reasons to stay at MacGregor Point at any time of year. Spring and fall are best for birders and those who enjoy hiking in cooler weather; summer is best for swimming and sun-worship on the beach; and winter is ideal for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and skating. Visiting in different seasons is like experiencing a whole new park.

Know before you go

  • Every spring the park hosts the Huron Fringe Birding Festival. Book early if you want a spot during the festival.
  • There is a dog exercise area at each end of the park on the waterfront so that your pups can enjoy the water too.
  • Winter camping is a big attraction, with cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, and even a skating trail.
  • On the weekend after Thanksgiving Monday, the park holds a “Witches in the Woods” celebration. Campers decorate their sites, trick or treat, and enjoy the fall colours.
