Weekend Trip to Forest Cabin

The forest cabin was everything I’d hope for and more. I wanted a place to get away and reconnect with nature and that’s exactly what I got out of my stay. I went for hikes through the property, got to play with the sheep and the dogs! And like others have said in their reviews, by far the best outhouse I’ve ever soon! I would 100% recommend staying here! I’ll be back to check it out in the spring or summer!

We didn't end up going to the location after booking it for a night because of snow but Nancy was flexible enough to provide us refund. She from her own told us its ok if you don't come over even on the day of the booking. This shows that she has some values. We will try and go over to her location anytime soon. Nancy is a great host.

Weekend Trip to White Pines Cabin Retreat

We loved Gillian and Jim’s property. Our stay could not have been better. Their hospitality and kindness went above and beyond. Their attention to the little things made all the difference. They aim to please by exceeding all expectations, more than any other host we have experienced. The three of us were very comfy and had lots of fun after dark by the fire and inside playing games. We got lucky with clear skies and sun. The stars were out and the sun in the morning was glorious. We only had time for one night but it felt like so much more. We will certainly be booking again and highly recommend to anyone looking to connect with Nature and relax.

Melanie & Ryan were fantastic hosts! They were kind, helpful, and incredibly responsive. The place is beautiful, and the lights make it magical and easy to navigate around at night. The yurt was gorgeous. My friend and I visited at the end of October, so it got very cold at night. However, the mattress heating pad worked wonders, and Melanie was incredibly kind to offer us additional bedding. Thank you for a great glamping experience!

We had an amazing stay at Carl’s place! The location is peaceful and beautifully maintained – it felt like having the whole forest to ourselves. The fall colors around the pond were absolutely stunning, and paddling there was pure calm. Everything was spotless, the hookups (including water) worked perfectly, and there was plenty of firewood ready for us. It’s a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature – we’d be happy to come back again!

Joan is a wonderful host. Very thoughtful of her guests. Her land is beautiful. All of her sights are private and have a fireplace and picnic table. Her dogs Sid and Onyx are beautiful friendly dogs. We had a dog with us and they play all weekend. We are looking forward to going back within the next couple of months.

Everdale is a special place! The straw cabin is simple, comfortable and so quiet! I felt safe as a person going there solo and walked their well loved and cared for land extensively. It was an education as well in that they have a regenerative farm. Being a long time gardener myself, it was interesting to read the sign posts on my walk explaining different aspects of regenerative farming and the lands ecology. I'll definitely come back and in the colder months, be sure you're comfortable keeping the woodstove going, you may need to split wood, etc. Also, being solar powered, if it's a cloudy day, the lights may go off early. I was glad I brought a battery operated lamp. Great place, great feeling there.!

It was an absolute blast on this project, The hosts were super friendly and welcoming, It was the best property we ever booked , it was worth . Loved our time at Joan's place. First time using hipcamp so had no idea what to expect, and it was awesome. I plan on returning many times, it is PERFECT, for cyclists who want to use it as a base camp or are through riding. Had a great time, 10/10 will return!

This is a very private little slice of heaven that I've been pleased to steward for over 25 years. If you love the sound of frogs singing, and bullfrogs plucking their banjo strings, red-winged blackbirds trilling, you will love it here. The property is literally right across the road from the Mono Cliffs Provincial Park which boasts amazing trails, views and features the Niagara Escarpment. The 4-acre pond/wetland is designated 'Provincially Significant' by the Ministry of Natural Resources and is an important part of the Nottawasaga Watershed. This area is renowned for its terrain - the fields are rolling and the views are quite special. You will enjoy a private firepit and private overlook at the pond with hammock. The site isn't visible from the road. Our house is visible from the site but far enough away as to not disturb one another. We have a newly added outhouse with lighting that will make your stay comfortable.

It is still a quiet, peaceful escape to the country and you can enjoy all of the amenities but there will be no veggie boxes this season and there are fewer animals to visit. The farm is a 100-acre working livestock and organic mixed produce farm with picturesque views, miles of wooded trails, and a beautiful little fish pond. We purchased this farm in 1998 from the previous farmer who had owned it since 1929. The train line ran right by the gate where the Kota hut now sits and would drop cattle right there to be finished and sold later at the Toronto Stockyards. Our barn was built in 1890 with the old farmhouse located across the creek. Two creeks meet the Grand River on our farm. The bunkie is situated north of the barn and faces Willow creek. During the summer the creek gets quite shallow but there are a couple of pools that work nicely for a float with our river tubes. The river also has a small swimming hole. The bunkie is nestled between 2 hills which creates a natural little valley. Campers can take a walk around the property or use the nearby long walking trail. New this spring, campers will be able to enjoy the firewood sauna, located close to the bunkie and nestled in a private spot near the creek.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There are pigs, cows, sheep, goats, geese, chickens, turkey, peacock, alpacas and a llama. All of our beautiful animals have been rescued and given a second chance at life! Spend time with our animals! Watch the animals eat their breakfast and dinner. It is quite the sight to see and hear a 800 pound pig charge towards their breakfast! Breakfast begins at 10 am and dinner is 2 hours before sunset.
