Description
Exploring the Newberry Volcanic Monument on horseback is a great way to see the area—and you’ll definitely cover a lot more ground when riding on your four-legged friend. Reserve one of 14 equestrian sites at Chief Paulina Horse Camp and you’ll have easy access to Paulina Lake and equestrian trails that criss cross over the volcano’s caldera. Each site comes with a double or quadruple corral, and there’s fresh water for horses—but you should plan on bringing your own. Check the campground website for closures and alerts before you giddy up!
