1/2 an acre on Canada's most southern inhabited island. Property has large mature trees and open grass areas. Lot can easily accommodate different size rv's or come pitch a tent. Public beach is only a couple minutes walk away. Pelee Island is a like a natural reserve which contains some of Canada's rarest plants and animals. lots of birds, snakes and even if you're lucky you'll see a colony of pelicans. You could easily mistaken that you were in the Carolinas.Come camp on beautiful Pelee Island. One of Ontario's bio-diverse jewels. Very private lot, with pull in site. Lots of mature trees to park your RV under or to pitch a tent. Open grass areas for games and activities. Sit around the fire pit and enjoy the starry evenings. Enjoy your lunches le fresco on the picnic table. Municipal campground around the corner with showers and potable water. Come experience one of Canada's best kept secrets.

The Hideaway on Pelee Island
A great hideaway!
The site truly felt like a 'hideaway' ... quiet and peaceful, and our Host was kind and accommodating :) We enjoyed a roaring fire with a few beers and just relaxed the night we arrived, since we got there with enough daylight to get the fire going. We enjoyed a lovely slow start to the morning with breakfast and coffee before heading out to explore the island. A lovely stay! Thanks Tom!!

The Hideaway on Pelee Island
The site was private and as described. Had everything we needed for a semi-primitive campsite, including toilet and an outlet. Tom was very a welcoming and responsive host. I do feel the need to mention that the mosquitos and spiders were out of control and gave me the worst bug bites I’ve ever gotten from many years of camping. Obviously bugs come with the territory with primitive camping and it’s hard to tell if this was a chance occurrence or not, but something to keep in mind and be prepared for.

The Hideaway on Pelee Island
Not exactly as expected
Pelee island is quaint and neat place to visit. We had a good time. The camp site needs a little work. There was an abandoned truck that was blocking 1/2 of the drive, this made it difficult to get in and out of the camp. The abandoned truck in the drive and a few other things made my wife uncomfortable and we ended up not camping there. We went around the corner to the East Camp Ground. The owners communication was good and he was kind enough to provide firewood but the vehicles and a few other little items keep this from being a great place.
