We bought this property in 2012 and have built several buildings and forged paths throughout the 32 acres. Our road is part of the North Country Trail, a footpath stretching over 4,600 miles from Middlebury in central Vermont to Lake Sakakawea State Park in central North Dakota. While tearing down the existing house, we constructed two bedrooms in the pole barn for a quick living space. Once settled in the pole barn, we a built a small log cabin with already felled timbers from the local woods, except for the box frame which was purchased from the local Amish. Prior to building our permanent log cabin home, this small cabin was our camp site and is now being rented to people that want to relax and enjoy the outdoors. In the middle of the woods, we created a campground to be enjoyed and on the North side of our property is a tree line between two fields that is a great small camper/tent camping spot.

Cabin has a microwave, Keurig, wood stove, futon, loft with full size bed, 5-gallon thermos of water, and electricity from a generator. No running water or kitchen. We provide twin sheets and pillow for the futon. We also make the full size bed in the loft.

Six off-grid sleeping cabins dot the landscape, all within a short walk to our Common House, that includes a large gathering space, community kitchen/dining and bathrooms/shower. EarthWell offers Yoga and Meditation classes and weekend retreats year-round. Located in Southeastern Michigan, just 30 minutes west of Ann Arbor, and near the towns of Grasslake, Chelsea, Manchester. (All downtowns are 7-10 miles away). Has a volleyball net, cornhole boards, horseshoe set-up, play-sets, pavilion and grills. This park also has access to the Coldwater River for even more fishing spots. 3.4 Miles from town where there is a grocery store, 5 miles from a dollar general. 15 minutes to Coldwater, MI. 35 Minutes from Battle Creek, MI 45 Minutes from Kalamazoo, MI.

Southern loop is right on a main road and you have to walk around to the northern loop to get to running water. Bathrooms and showers on the northern loop are decent but not spectacular. The view over the lake from the northern side is really beautiful. Although much busier, I'd recommend staying on the northern loop. If the southern loop were full, campsites are very close together and exposed but on a weeknight there were only people in 2 other sites and honestly being on such a main road and with so few others around, I felt a bit uncomfortable as a woman camping alone. Bugs were really terrible in mid-August.
