Fantastic time at Century Village
Had a fantastic time at Century Village Museum in Burton, Ohio.
This was my first time using Hipcamp and I chose a great place to start my Hipcamp adventures. I was the only one camping the two nights I stayed and I had the camping field all to myself. Beautiful views from the field during the day and fantastic view of the sky and stars at night.
The historic village was wonderful with great old buildings, a horse, some chickens, and a wandering cat. Woke up the second morning and looked out my camper window and saw some turkeys (I think they were turkeys) walking around the field.
Burton is also a great little village. I had not been there for years and I enjoyed visiting the log cabin on the square to buy some maple products. I also visited Chardon and bought some more maple products and syrup. Close by is Holden Arboretum, which I visited and was also amazing.
Everyone I met and spoke with at Century Village, Burton, and Chardon were super nice.
I will be back!

Due to a scheduled large event at the facility (which we were not aware of until we arrived), we opted not to stay here on this weekend.
Since it was a holiday weekend, most local campgrounds and other sites in the area were full.

It was great camping.James came and greated me to personally guide me to my site. Some of his employees helped me to set up, and would ask me of I neede any help throughout my stay.If you like bare bones camping or in a RV, this site is perfect if you are vending or visiting an event at the Century Village museum

Experience of a Lifetime in Burton
Liam, Aidan and I had an amazing stay during the eclipse weekend. Our hosts provide a perfect location for a perfect view of totality. But beyond the eclipse, I was surprised to learn about so many great things going on at the Century Village in Burton. An surprised to find that this hipcamp spot is ideal to stay and walk to the many festivals being planned this year.
My sons and I felt so welcomed by James, his wife and the rest of the Historic Village volunteers that operate this gem of Geauga County. The eclipse festival was quant perfectly suited for the historic village. We enjoyed local artisan vendors and a $10 breakfast in one of the village buildings that included real maple syrup made in the onsite sugar house. We also found time to tour the new maple syrup museum. The festival and the museum were free of charge for the campers.
On top of all that, it was a thrill to meet and talk with other tent and RV campers who traveled from MI, VA, DC. Wonderful, friendly people. What a great group to share the exlipse experience. I can't thank our hosts enough for making this visit to Burton so special.
We will be back for other weekends this summer and fall, esp apple butter and haunted village in October.
