Camp Peace consists of a riverfront vintage VW Bus camper as well as a very small cabin! Enjoy the free use of our kayaks and canoes as you navigate the many islands across from our property. Both the VW bus and the cabin have heat and air conditioning. The cabin has a 4-burner stove, oven, refrigerator, freezer, and hot and cold water sink. The bathroom has a ship pump handle commode. There is a full shower, as well.Welcome to Camp Peace,  a serene campsite that's nestled in the woods on the beautiful Maumee River in Waterville, Ohio. Feel free to camp in our vintage 1965 VW Bus, the small cabin,  pitch a tent, bring a camper,  or all of the above!  (We have 12 waterfront cabins and cottages so let us know if you need more space.) The VW Bus has a fold-down double bed complete with an air mattress. It also features heat and even air conditioning!  The cabin is complete with a fold-out day bed, camping-style restroom, stove top, oven, sink, a hot & cold water dispenser, a Keurig with an ample supply of both regular and decaf coffee,  baseboard electric heat, and air conditioning.  You'll have access to the free use of kayaks, a canoe, pedal boats, and even an electric fishing boat! Navigate between the beautiful islands that look out from your campsite. (Don't worry non-swimmers, the river is usually so low that you could walk to the islands, and of course, we provide life preservers.) A 12-mile hiking/biking trail abuts our property and runs through the woods along the river from a nature park to Grand Rapids, Ohio. A 110 outlet, as well as a spigot, is available to draw water and electricity from.  (There is no limit to the number of tents, campers, etc. - just a modest $10 per person charge in addition to your booking.) There is plenty of parking is at your site! The river offers great fishing and swimming and there are many nearby historic attractions. A general store and several restaurants are just a few short miles away by either car or by the hiking trail through the woods. Don't worry if you run short on linen or pillows. We always have fresh complimentary supplies available! Just let us know. (We live in the brown "A" frame-style cottage.) Also, there's usually plenty of firewood nearby however, you may need to cut it. Friendly pets are welcome and there are never any fees. Leaches are only required when outside your site and of course on the hiking and biking trails. There is a $35 per stay cleaning fee. Hope this helps! Cathy.

My siblings and I were looking for a last minute cabin after a plan to tent camp went awry. We had no idea what to expect and were pleasantly surprised! The cabin was cozy and had the bare necessities. It’s winter, so we weren’t able to take advantage of the water crafts, but we woke up to a beautiful snowfall and view of the river.! The hospitality was wonderful and we definitely got the relaxing weekend away that we were going for! We will return for sure. For potential camper information that I wish I’d had- There is a stove, table, microwave, small coffee maker, chairs and less than functional pull out futon. Also a “camp” bathroom with a camper toilet, sink and shower. There is a porta John right next to the cabin. We brought sleeping pads and bags expecting to maybe sleep on the floor. We could less than comfortably for 4 people in the cabin, but it would be more than comfortable in weather that allowed for tent camping. There were a few pans, salt, pepper and dishes. There was firewood available as well. The bus was not practical to use in the cold, but I can see the pity for use in the warmer months. Cute community location to spend a weekend in nature!

Can’t wait to come back
With kids
Absolutely perfect family getaway. Nicest hosts and serene setting. We took the kayaks out using the path that the owner Parker suggested. Got dinner at a local Mexican restaurant and our kids played outside for hours. Can not wait to come back.

We absolutely loved our stay here! We were driving through on our way to Ontario. It was the last minute decision and the hosts were so kind to get everything ready for us. We would 100% stop by again!! Thank you

Peace and love and camping

What a beautiful place hosted by wonderful people. It was less isolated than we expected. There are many cottages on the property that are pretty close together. It’s more like a communal campground vibe rather than private camping. However, it was still serene, quiet, and lovely. We never wanted for anything as our host was so accommodating and friendly. The bus was so cool! Our dog loved lounging in it.
