We purchased this 18 acre property in 2002. It is a small farm with an 1859 bank barn. We alternate raising pigs and cows for our consumption. We also raise rabbits, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, pheasants and goats. 4 barn cats and our beloved Louie (dog) also live here. We put in a spring-fed pond and stocked it. (Fishing welcome) We replaced the large open lawn areas with naturalized growth and mowed pathways for access. We plant and encourage beneficial trees, flowers, bamboo and shrubs. There is a small apiary on the property. We are located 5 minutes from Gambier and Mt.Vernon. We are 3 minutes from Wolf Run Park which offers nice hiking and a fenced-in dog park. We are 1 hour from Columbus, 2 hours from Cleveland and 30 minutes from Mohican State Park and Snow Trails ski resort. Multiple river access sites and canoe liveries are nearby. Property contains several gardens. Quiet getaway with nearby points of interest and activities. Camp on a hillside overlooking Broken Oak Farm and directly above a new pollinator pasture. You will have access to the pond, gardens, apiary, animal viewing, trails, bamboo forest, etc. Located near Kenyon College, the rail trail, Brown Family Environmental Center, the Kokosing River, nature preserves and more.

Nice site

We enjoyed our time at Broken Oak. The site is big with a nice fire pit and trash can. It feels very private. Michael had great communication. Be prepared for the narrow path you drive on to get to the site, the plants on both sides rub against your vehicle.

Private Friendly Camping

Broken Oak site #2 was very peaceful and relaxing. Michael was a very accommodating host and all of the animals on his farm were really friendly, especially Charlie and the goats. Everything was beautiful and well kept. The site was very private and well prepared when we arrived. You can see our adventures at this site at YouTube on the Get Livin Outdoors channel.
