As the name suggests, our campsite is on the edge of the New River, overlooking its clear waters where visitors are likely to catch glimpses of the abundance of wildlife including deer, turkey, beaver, fox, and many species of songbirds. Listen to the sounds of nature as you fish right off the bank! You’ll be provided a picnic table, fire pit and chairs on this family-friendly private site making it an economical way to have fun and get in touch with nature. And yes! we are dog-friendly as well. Firewood is free and we will provide generator power for an additional charge to power the lights strung among the trees. Convenient to historic West Jefferson and Boone, you’ll find lots to do while on your mountain getaway. Please note that cell service is very limited and WiFi is not provided. Prolonged rainy conditions in the river bottom may get muddy, so please be prepared for your stay!As the name suggests, our campsite is on the edge of the New River, overlooking its clear waters where visitors are likely to catch glimpses of the abundance of wildlife including deer, turkey, beaver, fox, and many species of songbirds. Waking up to the gentle sound of the river flowing through the serene and secluded location was truly heavenly. The open spaces and beautiful surroundings added to the feeling of peace and tranquility. Additionally, the host's friendly and welcoming nature made the stay even more enjoyable.

A relaxing four days
We had a very relaxing four days camping in our camper truck on the New River. Once we set up a hammock and chairs, we spent much of our time reading, meditating, and watching the river and the birds. A powerful antidote to stress. Steve checked in the first day to make sure we had what we needed and then he allowed us our privacy. It is a small challenge to get down from the riverbank into the water but not impossible. The water was shallow (walkable) and cool.

Beautiful night of camping
Amazing night at a beautiful site!! Tent was set up literally a couple feet from a nice flowing river. It was very quiet. The only thing we heard was the flowing water from the river. The owner Steve greeted us as we arrived and was very friendly. He made sure we had everything we needed and even plugged in the beautiful bistro lights over the site which was the perfect touch. We will definitely return here!!
