Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Cedar log home was built in the late 70. Aesthetic views. Walk the trail behind the house and see the mountain views or just relax on the Catawba river. On a clear day you can see Mr. Mitchell. Large field for games. So far away, but so convenient Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent and listen the the river, while enjoying the fire. Watch the horses play and enjoy your evening. We had a great time. This was our second visit and it’s truly a special spot. Kimberly took the time to point out local spots of interest and was very welcoming. Highly recommend.

Creekside Camping
Nice little creek side spot. Directions were easy and accurate. Host communication was fast, friendly, and helpful. We drove our campervan into the campsite without problem. I look primarily at remoteness and privacy. I would call this site not remote, as it is just off Internet 40 and less than a mile to the town of Old Fort (we went to Deb’s Diner for breakfast, it was great!). I would call this site semi-private, as the site is within line of site of the host’s house and houses on the other side of the creek, but not within earshot. The site has a really nice fire pit area with plenty of seating and a grate over the fire pit suitable for grilling. Livestock are on the property, and we were visited by an old pup in the morning. Nice tree canopy of the site. This would be fun site with children.
