The farm is set on an 8 acre farm in a tranquil valley 10 minutes north of charming Lansing, NC and 1 mile south of the Virginia border. The property is set back from the main road, providing privacy and tranquility. Since this is a working farm, the owner and farm helpers may be present tending the sheep, renovating one of the old outbuildings, tending the flower farm, or just mowing the lawn. There is a designated RV spot with gravel pad and hookups to septic, electricity, and water in front of the barn. Guests have access to the lower area of the property including the flower farm and open fields but do not have access to the upper part of the property including the main house without permission from the owner. We are at 3000 feet elevation and rely on mountain breezes and fans to keep cool in the summer. The climate here is very nice in the summer, wonderful in fall and spring with crisp nights, and cold in the winter with more snow than most parts of the South. The RV pad is located in front of one of our barns. Guests have access to the flower garden/farm across the gravel driveway and can visit with the sheep and donkeys we currently have in the fields (we ask that guests do not go into the fields occupied by the livestock but can observe from outside of the fence). Across the street from the farm is Helton Creek and we do have river access down a very steep path or folks can drive downstream to access areas for some of the best trout fishing in the Southeast.

RV camping spot in front of barn
Flowers, sheep and a llama. Oh my!
My husband and I loved camping on Rickie's farm. Rickie made sure we were warmly welcomed and stayed in touch with us from the moment we made the reservation. He was always available for anything we needed. We were intrigued with Rickie's Hipcamp posting because he practices sustainable growing for his flower farm, something we're very interested in and support. Our campsite was adjacent to his beautiful flower beds where we picked fresh flowers every day. Rickie gave us a personal tour of his farm when he fed the animals. The llama and sheep ate out of our hands. Rickie's farm is an idyllic serene place to camp with full hookups. Rickie is a warm and caring host ensuring it was an A+ visit for us. We'll certainly be returning.
