The campsite is nestled on 3.5 acres on the peaceful bank of the Neversink River fed from the Neversink Reservoir nearby. You will have the campsite to yourself as the property is very private! It is placed down an embankment riverside with no neighbors around. The campers may see a kayaker passing by or a fisherman walking the riverbank on the other side of the river only. Bald Eagles Nest just across your site! Amazing views of birds and wildlife! Hammocks riverside for relaxing and listening to the soothing sounds of the river running. Right on our property are access to many types of activities: Kayaking, Tubing, Yard Games, Corn Hole, Kan Jam, Ladder Ball, Bald Eagle Nest to watch, Bird Watching Explore nearby attractions such as The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Kartrite Waterpark, Resorts World Catskills Casino, Blue Hole Swimming area, Neversink River fishing access, Neversink Reservoir, Roundout Reservoir, Neversink Gorge Trails, Lake Minnewaska, Sam's Point Pets: We certainly love and will except pets! Guests clean up poop onsite is required. Our other concern is potential damage to the property from pets. If your pet tends to chew things or is a bit destructive we require any damage caused to be repaired or replaced by the guest. 2 pet maximum per stay unless discussed before booking. I decided to build a campsite after being approached by a few guys from Brooklyn, looking for a place to camp while stopping at our family yard sale. They loved the location and came back a second time. It became obvious we had something special at this location. The site is continuing to grow and we are working on new accommodations to keep things interesting! We hope you consider coming to visit us! When we are available, we greet each guest to help get their gear down to the river with our John Deere Gator UTV. We offer the same help during checkout getting the guests gear back to their vehicle. We live onsite but far enough away from the campsite allowing the privacy for our guests.Whether you prefer traditional camping or glamping, or maybe somewhere in between; it’s up to you at Neversink Sanctuary. Nestled on the peaceful banks of the Neversink River in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, our private campsite is the perfect place to relax and recharge. “The Shed at Neversink Sanctuary” is loaded with amenities such as a covered front porch, heat, electric, wi-fi, and a full outdoor kitchen. Feel free to keep it simple and cook on the open campfire or use our propane grill and smoker Big Green Egg Komodo BBQ (yes, you read that right) to show off your culinary skills. Come enjoy kayaking, tubing, fishing, bird watching, or just exploring the tranquil waters of the Neversink River at this private location. It is not uncommon to experience bald eagle here at the sanctuary as there is a nest in view and one a bit further upstream. Let the refreshing river waters wash your stresses downstream. Our site has plenty of room for additional tents and playing yard games such as can jam and cornhole which are provided for your enjoyment. We have extra gear for convenience, zero gravity chairs, 5 ft table, and more!

This is a very special place. Absolutely beautiful grounds and the site has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The host was awesome, very nice and hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed for a great weekend. Highly recommend!!

Great Camping

Neversink Sanctuary was a great spot for our annual friend's get together. The cabin was extremely well-maintained with the grounds nicely spread out for larger groups. The outdoor kitchen area has everything you need and was amazing to cook from. Taking the kayaks out on neversink river were the highlight. Highly recommend visiting and experiencing Desmond’s hospitality for yourself.

This is the perfect campsite for serenity and tranquility. We were 6 guys that enjoy food, drinks and bbq. This provided all the needed items for our camping and Des was a wonderful host. Looking forward to coming back.

Slice of heaven

I absolutely loved this trip. Des’s land is a little slice of heaven. Once we were at our site, it felt so private. You could hardly hear anything that wasn’t water or birds (so many birds! And the eagles! 💙). Once in a while you might hear a car go by. The river rocks were perfect for hanging out on and our dogs loved exploring them. The cabin was cozy - and we needed some cozy with all the rain we had over the two nights we were there. A well thought out kitchen set up and outhouse rounded things out. I wish we could have built a fire, but there was lots of rain so we will just need to plan a return trip. Perfect for a couple looking to get away, but could also see how much fun this would be with a group of friends, especially with that outdoor set up. Highly recommended.

River Front Perfection!!

Amazing Property Exceeded Expectations. you arrive to a house and have a moment of is this the right place. Then you walk through the meadow down a small embankment and you are suddenly in fern gully. This campsite is truly one of the best I have ever found. Des is super kind and brought down fire wood which made things very easy. the cooking setup is great propane stove on a mainline super easy no charcoal needed and there was a giant XL green egg and smoker. Mini fridge was extremly helpful for condiments ect. BUT the star of the show here is the never sink river. you are right on it. sleeping to the sound of a creek is excellent. lots of space for tent camping and hammocks and the beds in the cabin were nice air matresses that staid well inflated for our 3 day adventure. I love it and would recommend booking this property. Kayaks and swimming all day and a huge fire pit with lots of seating. It rained one evening but there was more than ample cover for our group of 8 people.
