Big Rock Campground is named for the bigtime boulders that glaciers carried to the region long ago.

Expect to camp in a wooded area just a short distance from other places you’ll want to check out including Otter Rocks, hiking trails along the Kancamagus Highway and the Lincoln Woods Visitor Center. There you’ll find a parking area, visitor info, trailhead for the Lincoln Woods trails, 180-foot suspension bridge and more.

Big rock fills up less quickly than the Hancock campsites, and is a couple miles further from Lincoln's light pollution. Many of the sites in the lower loop have small sets of stairs up or down to get to the site, and the upper tent area share a parking lot.
