The property used to be part of the old Johanson farm, it was a 200 acre dairy farm a hundred years ago. when the State put in the highway (I-93) in 1961 it split the farmland in half. The old stagecoach road which runs through the property from Canterbury Station to Northfield Station is now part of the main trails system. The early Pony Express riders dubbed the swamp on the land "Wolf Swamp", because there were many reports of riders seeing Wolves in the Swamp. The property is very open, although the sites are very spread out and secluded for ultimate privacy. There are several great hiking trails on the property, also used by local mountain bikers and Horseback Riding. Occasionally there will be an ATV or Dirt Bike passing through. We are located in the Heart of the local Trail system. There are several great places to swim and Kayak or Canoe literally around the corner. There are also lots of great local attractions close by, many that have Farm Stores, Shops, Homemade Gifts, Breads, Pies, Cheeses and we even have a few local Breweries. There is something for everyone, just ask and we will point you in the Right Direction.

The Presidential Suite site # 12
Elli was a super host, making sure everything was set and ready for our arrival. We decided to cut our trip short due to unexpected circumstances, but she was understanding and very sweet. This was our second year there, and will be a yearly trip from here on out. Great people, great sites!

Fantastic hosts, and great campsites. What more can a hipcamper ask for? This is our second time staying at the wolf swamp, and definitely not our last!

Site 6 Yogis place
We live outside of Boston and wanted to head north for the long weekend. Didn’t want to go too far north because we knew it was prime leaf peeping weekend. Their property is maintained, the road was manageable with my mini van/rooftop tent and pulled utility trailer. Site 6 was perfect for a pull in/out situation, no backing up necessary. I went with two children and they loved visiting their three horses, many trails to explore and we found one trail that led to train tracks. Great fire circle, picnic table and wood waiting. Fresh spring water delivered and the ability to get more wood if necessary. If you don’t want to hear the highway in the background then this is not for you. My kids found it comforting and it helped them fall asleep. We had terrible rain but still had a nice time. We never left the property so I’m not sure what is around. There are pictures on the site that show a playground but that is about a mile away. A few sites are nearby but no issue hearing the other people.

Camp David #7
We loved this campsite. David #7. It was wooded and private. Beautiful plot of land. Easy to find with the gps & there is plenty of cell service at the entrance of this property. Friendly hosts.

Site 5 The Otter Watch Pond
We only had a quick stop over, however the host's worked with us to get settled in a site that would work with our trailer, and delivered a generous amount of wood for a campfire. We would happily return there!
