We sit on 130 acres of primarily pasture over looking Washoe Valley and Washoe Lake. Olde LYFE Alpacas offers visits with the animals, including an organized 60 min Peaceful Walk with an alpaca where you’ll experience them up close. To book an experience, go to www.oldelyfealpacas.com. There is a small retail store on site with a variety of products made with alpaca fiber, including the most delightful alpaca socks!!

Camping with the Alpacas
We decided to tent camp here instead of going further south just because we were a little concerned about the outside temperature with our dog. We absolutely loved staying here! If you love animals, then you will too! All of their animals are nice & a little curious so they will come check you out. Aside from the animals, the property is gorgeous & they have a porta and hand wash station that they keep very clean. Due to high winds they keep it locked, but guests can easily unlock it to access it. The weather was great, a little sunny but breezy & we were able to make shade for ourselves. They also provided us with some water, although we had our own. They also have an alpaca shop stocked with all sorts of great items made from alpaca hair & fresh eggs available for purchase. We definitely recommend checking out this property!

Olde LYFE Alpacas
Unforgettably wonderful!
We absolutely loved everything about Olde Lyfe Alpacas. It is peaceful, beautiful, and full of animal life. There’s nothing like waking up to alpacas and horses grazing at your rv window! We can’t wait to visit again!

Olde LYFE Alpacas
Overall we had a good time. Even though they do state it’s a working ranch, we didn’t realize how close the camp was to where all the work is happening. This camp is by no means “private” throughout the day we did have people from the tours they give going right infront of our camp. It is slightly different than the photos as they have added structures for the animals. I thought it would just be us since this site only states 1 spot but she does have other sites she does booking through so there are other campers. Everyone is super friendly and so are the animals. We went with our 16month old toddler and I think he is a little too young, even though he did have fun and loved the animals . I would take kids that are older. The bench/table was broken on one side and older but it got the job done and the fire pit was nice even though we didn’t use it.

Hanging with the Alpacas
LOVED LOVED this place! Waking up to alpacas roaming freely is def an experience. They are so curious and adorable, yet friendly. We saw their goats, a wild pig, donkey which all seem to not be bothered by humans so there was a sense of comfort on the farm. Unfortunately, we were in and out due to our schedule but would live to stay here again, maybe for a couple of nights! Stacey was very responsive and gave us details of the property so we can maneuver around with our trailer easily.

Olde LYFE Alpacas
Their alpacas’ best alpaca
I think this was my all time favorite site to camp at on my Grand Canyon road trip! All the alpacas were super friendly, no one was spit on. We arrived pretty late that night and were able to spend the night with our tent pitched in the alpaca pen. Waking up surrounded by alpacas is a core memory now. Our hosts Sarah and Brian were fantastic. Knowledge to my like 5yr old curiosity and cascade of questions. Brian met us the following morning with eggs and biscuits before we headed for the road once more. If you are in Nevada around Lake Tahoe I would 1000% recommend swinging by and meeting the herd!
