You might have trouble convincing Teddy Roosevelt that E.
T. Mahoney is a State Park, what with its enormous waterpark and murder mystery dinners, but there’s still plenty of old-school camping fun to be had! Settle down at Little Creek for some quiet time in the woods with easy access to Bur Oak, where you’ll find stellar stars and experts around to guide your gazing. If you have not ridden a horse, this is the perfect place reserve a ride through the park’s trails, or explore the park’s endless options for minigolf, watersports, and fishing.
I have camped here a few times. It is great for scout camp outs and family alike. There is a lot to do from horse back riding to the water park. Good trails for hiking and mountain biking right on the Platte River. Check out the view from the observation tower when you are there. Very friendly staff and camp hosts. My only complaint is it’s proximity to interstate 80. You do get some road noise not matter where you camp.
