Description

The selling point of Cliff Point Campground is its view of Cliff Lake. The lack of shade can make the campground afternoons toasty, but it means an uninhibited look at the waters below while roasting marshmallows on the evening campfire, and a good chance at spotting moose around the lakeshore. The lake, once traversed by Lewis and Clark on their historic journey west, gifts you pristine surroundings, located a mere 30 miles from Yellowstone National Park. And, a fact for the fishing enthusiast: Cliff Lake produced the state record 20 pound rainbow trout in 1952, which remained until it was broken in 1988. Bring your water toys, your hiking boots, and sun protection, and enjoy the 6,400-foot high perspective of Cliff Point.
