The photos in the listing do NOT do the view justice! It was so gorgeous. This property is surrounded by ranches, which means lots of cows, goats, and teenage boys within earshot. It was never annoying, but you may want to bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Our dogs had a hoot hunting voles, sniffing around in the grass, and running wild. While this is indeed a solid place for off-leash, you should probably bring a line for your dogs if they aren’t good listeners. With animals to investigate on adjacent properties, I could foresee some pups getting into trouble. A little dog named Luna came to hang out with us (as well as a horse that snuck in but kept to himself). Luna was sweet but did get a little snarly with our pups before laying down to nap. If you have reactive dogs, this may not be the best option. As noted in the listing, you need to bring everything in and out with you. Easy-peasy and St. Ignatius is just 10 minutes away, so you can easily grab more ice, water, beer, and snacks as needed. Overall, this was a great spot to tent camp and the host was super responsive and helpful. The proximity to the mountains, beautiful views, and overall vibes were amazing. We drove up from Missoula and would 100% stay at this property again. A note if you’re planning on hiking: don’t forget to get your tribal permit. The internet says you can pick them up in St. Ignatius but that’s a lie. Go through this site https://ols.fwp.mt.gov/
