THE COTTAGE AT PEACETREE
I had a great time here. It was very relaxing. Spent 2 days by the lake reading. Short walk from the cottage. I do want to mention, there is no fire pit at the cottage. There is a charcoal grill, they do provide it. Beautiful views. It's not as private as it seems in the pictures, but everyone was very nice!

REFLECTION RIDGE
Perfect!
We camped just one night at the Reflection Ridge site, and it was perfection! Walked in the woods, took the kayak out twice, and enjoyed the spectacular stars. Gorgeous setting and super friendly/helpful hosts. Can’t wait to go back!!

THE COTTAGE AT PEACETREE
The cabin is clean and cozy. The property is gorgeous, with nice paths around the woods and their pond. Great habitat for birds-restored prairie and woodland.

REFLECTION RIDGE
Tranquility!
Being so consumed with life, I decided it is time to get back out to nature to recharge. Since my wife had not been a fan of campgrounds, where you stay next to other campers. I decided to use Hipcamp, we found Peace Tree Farm hosted by Katie, it is not too far from home. We pulled in, not expecting much but we were greeted by the friendly host, Ms. Katie, she showed us the facilities and led us to our camping area. All we can say is wow! The camping area looks out to a very clean lake with unobstructed view, and without neighbor in sight. We settled in, and I spent hours practicing astrophotography made possible with clear October night. We went to sleep around midnight looking up to a beautiful night sky. I woke up early and took in the morning rays shine through the trees. My wife and I spent sometimes rowing a boat on a lake, which was my wife’s favorite. We departed later in the morning felling recharged. Thanks Katie and her husband for opening up their farm for others to appreciate nature. We will visit her farm again soon.

Site 1 - PeaceTree Farms Shady Bend
Awesome place! Beautiful hills, well kept. My daughter and I chose site 1 and we were a little worried we’d be crowded but there was AMPLE room. I could count on one hand how often we even heard our neighbors. That’s saying a lot cuz it was a dozen guys and half a dozen pickup trucks! The haunted hayride was actually pretty good. My daughter is 11 and says this was the best haunted hayride she’d ever been on. It’s nice they do this stuff cuz I’m always worried I’ll bore my kids to death. The walk to and from camp to the activities is long enough to be an activity itself, but not long enough to be a drag. It was a nice way to break up the night! The hosts brought us more firewood than we needed, and we were still free to pick up smaller stuff off the ground, which is to me, one of the funnest parts about camping! Lol. Stargazing was great. I doubt if it gets much better, but I don’t get many opportunities. Could see the Milky Way band across the sky which I hadn’t seen in years!
All in all, super awesome camping trip. Also close to home if your from STL. This one may be missing the scenic hikes overlooking winding rivers, or the misty mountain mornings but if your goal is to have a chill day or two, on some quiet farmland, and be close enough for some kid friendly activities, I’m sure you could do a heckuva lot worse than Peacetree! Thank you guys for a wonderful weekend connecting with the kiddo!
Ps, at the time of this review, there was a public lavatory with A/C!
