The cozy cottage has thick walls built of straw bales and plaster; many windows; wood stove; window air conditioner; electricity; hot/cold water; full kitchen with large refrigerator, electric stove/oven, double sink, and dishware; bathroom with full tub/shower, sink, compost toilet and washing machine. The upstairs has two bedrooms - one with two extra long twin beds that can be joined as king size (bedding supplied). Bring your queen air mattress or sleeping bags for the other bedroom. Access to upstairs is a firmly fixed leaning ladder. There are fields and ponds to explore. An outdoor fire pit is available for those cool nights under the stars. If you want bring your horses there is a fenced area for boarding and water available. You may park trailer on property. Extra $10 @ night per horse. Numerous Conservation Areas within 15 to 30 minutes with multiple trails, lakes and more.The cottage is 40 foot from gravel county road and half mile from the main homestead so access is easy. There is 20 acres and three ponds directly behind cottage for exploring. Another pond with swim dock and kayaks is less than .25 mile from cottage. Cottage is ready for you with fully equipped kitchen, table & chairs, couch and rocker. Bring your lawn chairs or borrow ours for watching sunsets and deer grazing in fields. Lots of nearby Conservation Areas for hiking, riding, boating or fishing.

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at Chris's Green Goat cottage! The cottage is charming, clean, & has all the modern amenities you need. The area is incredibly quiet, a perfect place to unplug. There is a town 20 minutes away with a gas station & dollar store if you run short on supplies. The sleeping area is upstairs & is accessed by a ladder, so be mindful of disabilities or small children. The kids had a great time visiting with the horses and swimming/paddleboating on the pond. Chris was an awesome host! If you would like a taste of country living, this is the place!

Loons in the evening

The whole atmosphere is so relaxing. The hosts are so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the nearby pond. We ate dinner outside to watch the sunset and we heard a loon call. Once we moved inside we played a few rounds of the Chat Game that Chris provided. The shower was hot and the bed was very comfortable. I've been interested in straw bale homes for years so it was fun to stay in one. Great stay!

The cabin was cute, and the bed was very comfortable. The fields next door were beautiful! I don't know if it was the host or previous renters, but it was nice that there were some cold drinks left in the fridge, and coffee for the morning.

Me and some friends spent the weekend on Chris’s land at Green Goat Cottage and had a blast kayaking and swimming all weekend! Can’t wait to return sometime!

This was such a cute house. My daughter and husband loved it. The listing is very accurate. They were sad they had no time to explore the land as they were just passing through the area and arrived late and left early. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
