Turn right after the dam, drive through Shepherd Mountain Lake Park. If our "campground guests only" gate if it is closed, and please close gate behind you. Thank you! No Hook Ups No swimming in the lake and no outside boats, but we have boats for campers to use free of charge! General Store and restroom facilities/showers coming soon!

Arcadian Oasis

Wonderful time at Arcadian Oasis!

We absolutely loved staying at the Arcadian Oasis tent at AVO!! The host, Michael, was so friendly and checked on us each night we were there! He made sure to answer any questions we had about the site/things to do around town. The tent was absolutely amazing to stay in. There was a nice queen size bed, ample mood lighting and seating, a few campsite games and a puzzle. There were 2 different types of butane cookers, a kettle, a solar powered fridge, and a large container of fresh water. Just a short walk from the tent was a well maintained outdoor shower and a very nice wood fire hot tub that was very relaxing. We arrived at 4:30pm and he had it burning all day so that it was hot for us by the time we arrived. The host even offered to fire up the sauna but we declined as it wasn’t quite cold enough outside for our liking, but we appreciated the sauna option! If you’re early birds like us, watching the sunrise over the lake from the porch of the tent is just spectacular. All in all we had an amazing time and we definitely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing “glamping” experience!

Wellspring

We stayed in the Wellspring A-frame and loved it! The games inside were a nice touch. It felt very secluded. There was room for a tent that had its own trail and wasn’t right next to the cabin. The owners were super friendly! We didn’t have time to use the spa, but it looked amazing! We did take advantage of the kayaks that were free. We paddled around the lake at sunset. All in all it was a very relaxing stay, and we would definitely stay again!

Arcadian Oasis

October glamping

Beautiful property and wonderful hosts. The Arcadian oasis tent was super comfortable with just the right amount of cooking supplies. Wonderful spot for a camp fire and soaking in some sunshine for morning coffee. The hosts were very attentive to property and welcomed us on arrival to make sure we found it in the dark. Would love to come back!

Old Country

Awesome camping experience!

I would highly recommend camping here! I love how each camping site is a unique experience. Old country is tucked away in the woods equipped with a natural rock fire pit, flat open spot for a tent, and a quality built picnic bench. I like how each spot is secluded with a good distance between you and other campers. Arcadia Outdoors has great amenities like kayaks to enjoy on the water, clean outhouses to use near the sites and a wood burning hot tub/ sauna. The surrounding area has great sites to see such as Elephant Rock, Tam Sauk, and Johnson Shut-Ins. They are a quick 15-30 minute drive from the site for a day activity. The host was very welcoming and made sure we enjoyed our stay. I’ll be coming back next year!
