Nestled in Manistee National Forest is a family farm. Trailheads lead to hundreds of miles of public two-track, and the woods roll between oak/maple/beech and aspen/birch. On the farm is a 20 acre lake with a floating island, tent sites, and healthy ecosystems with plenty of wildlife. Our farm pastures pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry, investing in our dirt and our neighbors. We are provision family farms because we provide for our animals even as we are provided for. Drop on in at the house and we may have time for a little tour. In the woods is a small composting toilet, but you're welcome to fertilize our pastures anytime. There's also a shower available in the house. The best time to visit Michigan forests is in October when the leaves turn color and the nights are cool. The mosquitoes are done for the winter and the air is brisk.

Beaver Lodge Tenting
Excellent
Had a ton of fun camping here, the family were all very kind and answered all of our questions. The beaver lodge was a gorgeous camp ground. The meat was DELICIOUS we reccomend adding that on. Although we didn't not meet the animals we will for sure be coming back to do so

Super unique stay, wonderful hosts!
My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful visit at the farm. Luke, his wife Lydia and their whole family are an absolute delight. Not only are they some of the friendliest people I've ever met, they are also so knowledgable about everything from farming to making fresh mozzarella. The treehouse is absolutely beautiful and such a unique place to stay. We can't wait to go back as soon as we can!!!

We had a great time. The view was great. The bacon was delicious. We got from him. We’ll try the sausage tomorrow as we did not cook this morning. Easy access easy access to everything will be back another time. Probably not this year as it might get a little cold thank you Luke for the great hospitality for Luke Hospitality

We enjoyed our time at Luke's land. It was a very private and quiet area. Plenty of wildlife on the water and surrounding area. If you're looking to enter the water from the site, you might want some boots! We enjoyed going on the M-20 trial, about a 20 min drive from the site. Would definitely recommend!

Silvopasture Pondview
My Misunderstanding
The lead photo for the site led me to believe it was out in the open which I wanted in order see as much much of the night sky as possible. It turns out that the picture was from a different location on the farm. I failed to understand that the term "Silvopasture" refers the process of converting woodland into pasture. The term is accurate and the site is a clearing in the woods with a limited view of the sky. I was also unprepared for the ever present smell of manure that accompanies a recently used pasture. I appreciated that they allowed my dog to be off leash however, she frequently saw or heard livestock in the adjacent pastures and I was unable to get her to stop barking. The hosts provided a map that was helpful for exploring the area. If a "Sky View" site located out in the open was made available I would gladly return.

Luke's campsite was absolutely beautiful! If you want quiet and secluded this place was perfect. We saw maybe 4 people drive by throughout labor day weekend. My kids loved exploring the woods and catching all types of frogs. We purchased some meat and eggs from him and it was delicious! And when a tree had fallen across the two tracks right to the site Luke was there in about 10 minutes with a chainsaw to get it out of the way. We even saw a pair of eagles flying over the lake and the pigs during our stay. My kids can't wait to go back!
