The tent site was amazing; having the lake that close was beautiful and peaceful. Definitely relaxing and will be back in the spring. Matthew and Rachel were very nice and communicated well; the porta potty was the cleanest I've ever been in.

Northern Lights over medora
The site was lovely and felt so rustic. We could see the lake through the forest while sitting by our roaring campfire. One night we were there the Northern Lights gave us an incredible show.
Nicely done Matthew and Rachel.

Tent Camping at Lake Medora
My husband and I love tent camping in the UP and finding new places to set up camp. This site was secluded and tucked away right by the water with plenty of land to roam with our dogs (which they loved!). We used the paddle boards at the beach every day and explored the nearby islands that the massive Lake Medora has to offer. Copper harbor is a very short drive with plenty of hikes and waterfalls to explore. Very limited cell service which was peaceful to escape for a long weekend. Outhouse right down the road from the site. Plenty of wood to burn, didn’t need to bring our own. 10/10 visit - would come back!

The setting is amazing. You drive quite a long way down the peninsula jutting into Lake Medora, close to the end, to reach the campsite. We found it covered with a thick layer of fresh wood chips, and we personally appreciated that the shoreline had not been degraded by taking down trees just to create a view. You will have utter solitude. The boulder work embankment to create a parking/camper space is well done. Overall still a little rough, though.

Hidden gem
This quickly became my favorite place to be. If you’re considering booking this site, don’t hesitate.
This camp site is beautiful, clean, private and peaceful. We stayed for 3 nights and wish we would have booked longer. Everything was fantastic, the land was fun to explore, gather wood and look for mushrooms! The paddle boards and kayak are SO nice to have on site too. We took them out to the islands in the lake, highly recommend, just be careful, the rocks are slippery! Outhouse is very clean and well stocked, there’s a good stack of firewood and plenty around to find yourself.
Having that much private space for my dog to run around is a huge plus. I didn’t have to worry about other dogs walking through our site. It’s hard to find campsites that are actually private, but this one is!! Great hammock trees, great views, cannot recommend this place enough!
Matthew and Rachel stopped by to say hi our last night and were extremely kind and hospitable. Prior to meeting they were super helpful and quick to get back with directions and questions. They had asked what we’d recommend adding to the site and we honestly can’t think of anything, it’s got it all!!
The only thing I’d caution others about is if you drive a low to the ground vehicle to take it slooow coming into the driveway. Any suv or regular sedan shouldn’t have an issue, but my Jetta is a bit lower to the ground and scraped just a bit when we came in late in the dark.
Thanks again for being great hosts!!

Between their communications and all the little extras that are provided, you can tell that the owners really care about you enjoying yourself: not only are they quick to respond through emails, but they willingly provide their phone number as a "just in case"; the fact that they provide firewood, a fire bucket, a table, and stock the portajohn should not be overlooked; as well as providing you a list of available eateries, are all things that you would be hard pressed to find at most other sites (they also provide use of their kayaks, but I won't talk about that as I didn't use... but it's still nice knowing they were there). For being within a vacation destination, the lake was surprisingly void of boaters, which only adds to the appeal of simply sitting on the rocks to watch the sun set behind the islands. The campsite itself was nice, with plenty of friendly chipmunks and red squirrels to keep you company; and if you camp here with little kids, there's enough ground for them to explore without worrying about them getting lost.
