16 beauitiful acres that back up to the Appalachian Trail on The South Mounatin range in Washington Count Maryland. Beauitiful outdoor furniture and fire pit for sitting under the stars. Pretty sunsets with pretty mountain views. Hike to Greenbrier Sate Park, Annapolis Rock and South Mtn Park. The first pat of the driveway is the steapest. At the top it will bend and lower to the barn. Park in front of the quonset barn. Walk behind barn camp anywhere in the opening. There is a propane hot shower and two water hook ups at the back of that little opening. Furniture for you to use is in the barn, feel free to hep yourself to that or any firewood.

Boonsboro Fern Retreat
Appalachian Delight
Michael is an exceptional host! Courteous, fast communication with me and my partner. And wow–what a beautiful Appalachian mountain view! As close as it was to cute little Boonsboro the wooded property was a quiet, secluded retreat. The whole surrounding property was wooded and lush. This must be one of the best locations in the area. Close to major roads and made for an easy getaway. I highly recommend and we will definitely be back..

Boonsboro Fern Retreat
15 mins off 70, AT out back door!
We would recommend Boonsboro Fern Retreat to those with great taste and appreciative of kind folks. Boonsboro Fern Retreat is a mystical place. It was perfect respite. It was beautiful, easy to get to, reasonably secluded and Michael is a fantastic host. The accomodations were as described in the listing. It was pretty easy to get to off of 70, ~ 10 minutes, and only a few turns between the highway and the spot. The hill is a bit steep but our sedan easily got up it in early December (no snow). The grounds were well kept and the quonset building is super cool. Very eager to return and see what they do with it. It was amazing to be a 15 minute hike to the Appalachain Trail! There was a wee bit of bush whacking but I can envision markers or even a future trail making that easier. Michael gave us confidence that we headed in the right direction. Michael also had fantastic recs for a winery up the street, and cidery about 20 minutes from the site. We will definitely return and look forward to seeing the evolution of the campground.
