NOTE: GOOSE PARADISE, FROG NOOK, RABBIT RUN, and DUCK HILL (Parking is available on these four sites) NOTE: BEAR HOLLOW, SQUIRREL HIDEAWAY, AND BOBCAT ISLAND (You will need to transport your camping gear to these three sites). This homestead operates solely on solar power and is completely off-grid, featuring chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys. Guests can savor fresh eggs, as well as vegetables from the greenhouse and garden, which they are welcome to pick themselves. Additionally, there is a natural spring-fed pond spanning 2 acres, where guests can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, rowing, and pedal boating with all equipment, including paddles and life jackets, provided on site. All sites are within walking distance of a very clean restroom, which is equipped with a flush toilet, a sink with running water, and a solar-powered light that turns on automatically. Additionally, there is an ample supply of toilet tissue and paper towels, and it also smells good too! NOTE: NO SHOWER AVAILABLE Each tent site features a fire pit and a picnic table. Guests can take pleasure in the hiking trails or venture into the woods to discover the natural beauty of this 25-acre homestead. Relax by the pond and watch for beavers, raccoons, blue herons, and even eagles. Enjoy the sound of the natural spring well as its ice-cold water is pumped to the homestead using solar power. Searching for and eating blueberries, wild strawberries, and blackberries can be a delightful activity. Savor the cool evenings by stargazing, observing fireflies, and listening to the chorus of frogs and owls. Witness the workings of an operational sawmill. Additionally, we provide blacksmithing demos and workshops, art (painting) lessons, and nature photography courses. Classes are available for a nominal fee. Conveniently located just minutes away are Home Depot, Walmart, various restaurants, shopping centers, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, antique stores, the historic Downtown Ellsworth, and the ocean!!

Squirrel Hideaway
Chilly nights, but warm hearts.
Days were growing shorter and since we were going to arrive after dark, Mike and Cheryl reassured us that they’d help us find our tent site. Mike greeted us with a flashlight to use, we loaded our gear in a cart Mike pulled with a small tractor to our site and we set up. True Serendipity is a beautiful spot and it would be fun to see it in the summer and see Mike’s blacksmith shop in operation. Our campsite was level, spacious and private, with a campfire ring and picnic table. The flush toilet and (cold) running water were welcome features. Temps dropped to 26 degrees, so a solar water heater might be a nice addition for a warm-water wash up.

Loved staying here. Mike and Cheryl are great. Fantastic communicators and even lent us fire making materials. Frog Nook was exactly what we needed! I can’t wait to come back

Frog Nook
This was a lovely spot to camp, we came back for a 2nd night! So nice to have a washroom too! We loved hearing the story of the place and knowing that the structures were made from wood milled by Mike from the property!

Bobcat Island
Absolutely loved Bobcat Island! The location was perfect for us and our two dogs. We were far enough away from people but not too far to get wood and use the bathroom. Mike was extremely helpful and nice, trying to make the stay as wonderful as possible. Highly recommend and hope to use again soon! Only half hour drive to Acadia, less than ten minutes into Ellsworth.

Goose Paradise
A Perfect Camp Experience
Mike and Cheryl are perfect hosts, very communicative and friendly! We rolled it late and everything was well lit and laid out, firewood waiting for us and clear direction to the bathroom etc.. Clean bathroom and a lovely site all round. We woke up to the pond, fall leaves and so much wild life! Chatting with Mike and Cheryl was so nice and hearing about their land and a tour of his blacksmith shop. We can recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!
