The Hill is a private forested camp area that was originally made for a large group of friend's annual party. Spanning 4 acres on top, there is space for campers including 30 amp plug-ins, tents, and has buildings on-site for groups if needed. We also an add on of a simple rental glamper we call the Sugar Shack (listed as an Extra). The variety of trees, open space, and a group areas including fire pit, horseshoes/bags, and walking paths make the Hill a beloved getaway. Elroy/Sparta trail is 4 miles away that you can reach on the 400 trail just 1.2 miles from Hill. Golf course in town, paddle on Baraboo, fish/swim at Dutch Hollow, or hike at Wildcat --all within 15 miles.
The campsite offers a serene and picturesque setting, perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat. Guests frequently note the attentiveness of the hosts, Bill and Kari, who are quick to assist and provide helpful guidance. The site's beauty and tranquility are emphasized, with many visitors enjoying the secluded, well-maintained grounds. However, campers should be aware of the steep hill leading to the site, which may require careful navigation, particularly with trailers.
This site was very nice and peaceful. We were the only campers there which was great. Definitely very secluded and out there. There is a small town within probably 15-20 minutes or so.
Host was very responsive and helpful when we arrived super late at night in the dark.
Site IS up on a hill but not terrible in good weather.
The spot was beautiful and quiet for our travel trailer for two nights. It was close to Wildcat Mountain state park and other Driftless area sights. We appreciated the extra-long extension cords that were provided to hook up power to our trailer. We would stay there again.
Great camp site. Accommodating host. Plenty of privacy and access to local roads for riding. Recommend!!
