Savanna Moon is a 80-acre homestead in western Wisconsin. Our vision is to create a village island within a vibrant matrix of wildness. We seek to enliven our spirits, restore the health and resilience of the land, and live sustainably.
We are committed to preserving and restoring the unique plant and animal communities living in this Driftless region of the Midwest. The land is hilly with ravines (coulees), a small spring-fed creek and is close to the Chippewa and Mississippi Rivers. Nights are star-filled and deliciously quiet.

Enjoy the sweeping prairie and sunset views from your camping area. We have a fire pit at each site for bonfires and there is a picnic table for cooking. Hike right from your tent onto 80 acres of prairie, woods and valley views. Lots of wildlife and wildflowers. Kayak the nearby Chippewa River.
The campsites are located on a working homestead, complete with old farm house and gardens. Site 1, Bee Balm is relatively close to the house, shower and toilet, and Site 2, Oak Grove is farther from the house and facilities, but still only about 40 yards from facilities. If you are camping with a trailer we will set you up in the Bee Balm site as there is more space and better access.Enjoy the sweeping prairie and sunset views from your camping area. Nice site. We did not spend much time at the site itself but, liked that when we came back to the camper it was quiet. Had everything as promised. We needed to use our leveling blocks. Had a picnic table, composting toilet, drinkable water and nice view. Cynthia was their to greet us and give us the details when we arrived. Would book again.

Cynthia was an excellent host! We arrived late, and she still took the time to guide us in to our site, explain the layout and accommodations, and answer any questions we had. Such a beautiful and peaceful place to take a break from the busyness and noise of daily life.

Cynthia has such a beautiful piece of land! It’s perfect for solo-travelers looking to hike and hammock. I’m happy to say I didn’t come home with a single misquito bite!! Cynthia was so sweet to talk to and Embers (their dog) was very welcoming! Couldn’t have had a better experience.

Outstanding small campsite
8 ft travel trailer
Cynthia has a beautiful prairie location for her HipCamp and enjoyment of her guests. The sites were clean with accesible fresh water, a large picnic table and very nice fire ring/pit. She was a welcoming host that greeted us on arrival and fully explained the composting toilet, outdoor shower and destination of the many trails she maintains. Enjoyed our visit and plan to visit again this Fall.
