Lake Superior Vista
Lake Superior vista is truly a beautiful site to experience. The Eagles Nest is so cute and we can tell that Jon put a lot of work into the aesthetics of everything. Loved the convenience of a cooking countertop and an incredible spot to enjoy our food. Appreciated the wagon for us to haul stuff back and fourth from the car as well.
However there were a few things that we were slightly put off by. We realized that the canvas tent had rips around the zipper as if an animal had tried to get in at some point. The zipper did not actually work either, so we could not close the tent. Which was highly disappointing because it hit low 30’s during our stay and being able to close the tent would have kept us that much warmer, we had to use a sheet I luckily had in my car to help cover the door so no breeze ripped through.
The composting toilet isn’t a composting toilet if there’s no “compost” part. There was no peat moss or sawdust for us to use. So we did not understand that claim.
The guests before us must not have cleaned up after themselves well because they left a few dirty dishes for us to re-clean and there was also some minor waste leftover at the bin/toilet… We didn’t much appreciate that part.
The blankets also smelled very heavily of perfume which gave me a headache after stepping in, unsure if it was a previous guest or just the detergent.
The only other thing that could have made our camping experience here better, aside from improvements to the issues stated above, is having communication from our host. I sent a message via Hipcamp asking about trails we could hike to get to the shore and never received a response. So we hiked whatever trails we could find but had no luck with getting to the shore from the listing.
Overall it was nice for the two nights we were there, like I said the views are incredible.
But for the price of a canvas tent bungalow, we at least wished that it was patched up or able to close completely.

Solo Camper in October
This was one of the most beautiful campsites I’ve ever stayed at! The view was insane, and very quiet. Almost too quiet. Very romantic and private. Close to so many things to do. My first solo camping experiences and it was a blast. I was busy the whole time. The autumn colors and scenic views are something I’ll never forget.

Lake Superior Vista
We had an absolutely wonderful stay here, and while the pictures are great - they only offer a glimpse into the amazing views of Lake Superior this place has to offer.
What really made the experience so incredible was the thoughtfulness Jon put into crafting this site. Everything was setup beautifully and carefully. Any "need" that we had there was something clean and functional provided to accommodate us.

Lake Superior Vista
Peaceful, quiet, and fun
I took my wife here for anniversary and what a perfect spot to get away and isolate your self. all you need to bring with you is food, and maybe a fan for at night it's a little to quiet!
Thanks for the experience Jon

Awesome View, Bummer Clean-Up
Beautiful view and a cool shelter, but room for improvement in terms of cleanliness and communication.
Several of the interior lights didn't work and no extra batteries. I was glad I'd brought my own lantern.
The open air kitchen is cool, but a mouse a set up camp there as well. Also, previous campers left the camp stove dirty (egg shell bits, burnt cheese) and dirty dishes in the dish drainer. Mice feces in the stove. No closed containers provided for dishes or cookware. I spent quite a lot of time cleaning up after others... not cool. I cleaned the stove, plates, bowls, flatware and left clean dishes in Ziploc freezer bags I had with me. Bummer and not what I'd expect for $100/night.
I sent a message via HipCamp with my ETA the day of my arrival 9/2 and later sent an email letting him know I'd arrived and asked about do's/don'ts as no welcome or introductory communication was provided. When I left on 9/4 I sent a message via HipCamp letting Jon know I'd checked out and described the extra clean up needed with the kitchen. No responses from the host beyond what was included in the HipCamp description.
