Beautiful lake access/views
Tent
The view of Donald’s lake at sunset was gorgeous. The small private dock with two boats was easy to access, however, we ended up not using the boats due to snakes in them…one of which slithered under the seat. His land is remote quiet and full of wildlife 👀🤣 we heard loons and coyotes, and saw beautiful swans as well as snakes out on the water. The owners dogs are well behaved and wanted to play with ours (who was a bit less social) while we camped. It is important to note that the main camping area (with the lake views) is directly adjacent to the owners home… behind the garage. Donald and his wife gave us as much privacy as possible but the reality of proximity meant that when they took out the trash or left in their truck it was mere feet from our camp site. I walked through some of their beautiful wooded property and there are roads to small clearings for more remote dry camping. These were not mowed during our stay but would give a much more private experience. Donald generously supplied wood for our fire and quickly responded to questions we asked during our stay. I highly recommend him as a host. If privacy is important to your camping experience, I recommend checking with him about the more remote areas…and arriving well before dark. It is truly a beautiful REMOTE land that Donald is offering to share.

Donald was a great host! Was available for any help we needed setting up and recommended kayaking places. It was an oasis in the woods!

Don was super nice. His dogs were friendly. If you’re coming with a tent, you need to be prepared for no bathroom options, fyi. Nice big fire pit, plenty of wood. Beautiful land. For me though, too many mosquitoes and I’m a wimp. The lake on property is not for fishing, no fish.
