Welcome to Dancing Deer Acres, owned and operated by Blazing Bear Homestead just across the street. Located in the beautiful Town of Peshtigo, Wisconsin just up the road from the Peshtigo Harbor State Wildlife Area and the Peshtigo River Delta Marshes State Natural Area. Dancing Deer Acres is carved out of a larger forested area, and adjacent to fields of upland prairie all in its natural state. Our campers are welcome to come over to Blazing Bear Homestead to see our herd of Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats and shop in the farm stand. Just 7 minutes away in the City of Peshtigo is Badger Park where you can swim, picnic, play volleyball, or enjoy the skate park; all for FREE! There is also a fenced horseshoe pit, brand new modern playground, and a disc golf course. The areas above and below the dam in Peshtigo are popular fishing spots that contain warm water fish populations of northern pike, walleye, large mouth bass and pan fish. In recent years the area below the dam has become a popular brown and rainbow trout fishing area. The Peshtigo Harbor boat launch is just an 8 minute drive away! This area offers a vibrant, rural community full of friendly people. There are a wide variety of outdoor activities within close reach. Opportunities for camping, boating, fishing, and sightseeing added to tours of our many area museums will make your stay as relaxing, informative, or invigorating as you choose it to be. Our natural beauty coupled with the friendliness of our small town atmosphere will make your stay enjoyable and, we hope, keep you coming back for more. The Apple Orchard Campsite is a flat grassy space surrounding 4 mature apple trees, and surrounded by beautiful pine trees. Enjoy plenty of space for multiple tents, plus the use of a fire pit and picnic table. There are plenty of trees to use for hanging hammocks and canopies. And depending on the season, fresh morel mushrooms, apples, and blackberries; our guests are welcome to forage what they can eat during their stay. This site is surrounded by a deeply wooded area where you'll enjoy the sounds of birds, frogs, and crickets. You may even see some of our local wildlife such as turkeys, deer, squirrels, and raccoons. Please come prepared to deal with the insects that live in the woods, like mosquitoes and deer flies. Bug spray, Thermocell, long sleeves and pants, smoldering fire, citronella candles, etc. are all good options. The orchard is right next to the road, but it is a back road and not very busy. Campers are welcome to visit our main property, Blazing Bear Homestead to see our herd of goats and shop in the farm stand. There is no water, electricity, or bathroom facilities at this property yet; so please plan accordingly. Please pack out what you pack in. The site is accessible by vehicle, but the trail is an uneven grassy area so 4wd is recommended. You can also park on the main gravel driveway if you prefer, or have a larger rig. When you camp at Dancing Deer Acres, you're camping in an area that was burned in the historic Peshtigo Fire in 1871 and we highly recommend visiting the Fire Museum in Peshtigo. We have public trails, free beaches, boat and kayak launches, a skate park, disc golf course, modern playground and much more all within a 10 minute drive.

It's a lovely site with a tree line between you and the main road. The portable toilet/shower tent with foot-pump sink was really nice. I enjoyed the site.

Great spot and hosts!
Wonderful hosts, great spot, quiet and private. Country setting. Usable toilet, sink and shower however rustic. If you don’t like camping here, you don’t like real camping! Close to lakeshore. Very beautiful!

Mini stay
A quick little get away from the city life enjoyed it much. Was close to places to go see so that was a plus. Mosquitoes was bad bad if u bring ur themacellS you would be good. Only bad side was there no service up there so if u needed to get a hold of host it's kinda thought unless u go to there house which is down the block. Host greater us upon arrival which was great. Also met landowners across good thing he gave us a warning about a bear he sees on his trail cam. Only down fall was ran out of fire wood and they didn't have any left so we kinda had to scavenge firewood. They started cutting more but we were leaving the next morning already so didn't need it by then. But over all nice place kids got to see to see the animals also where we were there. Would recommend if u like straight camp with no water or electricity
