8 acres hosted by David And Jess A.
My wife and I purchased this property to enjoy with our camper van, while we plan our dream cabin over the next decade. For now, we will be camping on it with our family, friends and newcomers.
Learn more about this land:
This ultra-private spot for your next adventure provides the fresh aroma under the “canopy” of our tall, and spectacular cedar grove that lines the west shore of the Ahnapee River, specifically Forestville Millpond. With 250’ of waterfront access all to yourself, and no-one else in sight, combined with 7.7 acres to roam, you’ll find plenty of space to release any stress in your lives. When you book a date for your stay, you can be assured that your group of guests are the only occupants on the land at that time. Limit of 12 persons.
We have created a cool campsite area atop a small bluff in the mature cedars, with 4 well-placed spots for family sized tents. There is a fire pit in the center for everyone in your group to enjoy. Below this area, is our Wigwam near the shoreline. It’s been a big hit with the kids! No fires are allowed inside there, ok? Forest fires aren’t cool 😎
There is a fire pit near the clearing on the shore as well, and another one on high ground on grass, with a picture perfect view of the water, and joined to our parking area. This area makes for another great zone to set up camp if you wish. We ask that you bring in your own firewood, since our kids worked hard on making ours. However, feel free to use any fallen branches or small sticks on the forest floor for kindling or to keep your fire burning if you run out of your own logs.
There is an abundance of wildlife to coexist with here. We frequently see deer, turkeys, quail, foxes, raccoons, beavers, geese, cranes, eagles, and all kinds of fish from the spring-fed Ahnapee River. Our property is located above the Forestville Dam, so from our view it looks more like a lake than a river! Bring your kayaks, it’s a beautiful experience and you can launch right at our shore with ease.
Forestville has a county park at the Millpond Dam located 1 mile away, with a beach, playground and boat launch. There is a convenience store, and several pub and grills in the town as well. Algoma is a short 9 minute drive away if you want to hit up the popular Ahnapee Brewery Taproom, or grab a nice dinner at one of their many restaurants. Historic Sturgeon Bay, a small yet happening city, is only 15 minutes away.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery and serenity, and please pack in, pack out. Welcome to Door County, WI! Best Regards, David and Jess
