3.5 acres of trees, sunlight, and chirruping birds for you to explore--or lie still and bask. In the summer, enjoy kayaking, boating and fishing on Mineral Lake; in the winter, watch the snow collect on evergreens while the silence blankets everything else. A beautiful, 30-minute drive from the Nisqually entrance to Mount Rainier - in addition to gorgeous options nearby. Suitable for tent or RV camping (dry camping only)Pristine campsite with plenty of dry-camping options for where to pitch a tent or park a camper. A 7-minute walk from "downtown" Mineral, where you can enjoy a meal or a drink at the Headquarters tavern--one of the oldest in the state, the epitome of a dive bar--or pick up any forgotten essentials at Mineral Market. Mineral Lake is steps away.
This is a family-owned property and--as you'll see from some the photos--the six of us are enjoying figuring it out as we go, honing our DIY skills on the occasional flower bed and building ourselves a yurt. Right now we are set up to offer dry-camping only. We're keeping rates low -- we want to share this land! But also, we want to hear from you as you explore and learn this little property. We welcome your pictures, stories of discovery, etc.
We mostly live offsite but one of us, Margot, is just up the road in case you need anything.
The whole space is yours to explore. So far, tent folks have liked being tucked back in the campsite we made near the yurt - a deep and wide pad of wood chips for your cushy comfort - while RVers have stuck to the main drive. Tell us what works for you!
Other things to note: For toileting, we do offer a camp toilet (bucket with a toilet seat!) for those who sit to pee. And for depositing solids, there are several options within 1/4 mile that we will share for you at booking.
You'll need to carry in your own water, and carry out your trash. This is leave-no-trace camping, including whatever your doggie, um, deposits. Thank you!
