Slow Boat Farm started as a 10-cow dairy in the 1930s. The modified farmhouse still stands and the base of the silo is now a fire ring. Wide open spaces, kayak launch, and small-scale farming form a unique culture at Slow Boat Farm. Camp on Puget Island, in a peaceful, pastoral setting with views of the hills and cliffs on both sides of the river. Fire ring is available year round regardless of fire bans. A large grassy field offers ample space, and a private kayak launch is a short walk through a cottonwood forest. You will enjoy a private camp spot with shade or open space, where we can accommodate multiple vehicles. Slow Boat Farm is a large meadow, five acres of grass and wide open spaces to view the gorge cliffs. Camping is available May through September 30.Wide open spaces, kayak launch, and small-scale farming form a unique culture at Slow Boat Farm. Slow Boat Farm is a small-scale working farm, specializing in garlic, onions, raspberries, some garden produce, and a big hay field - and like all of Puget Island, is green and productive due to wet winter conditions. Serene and Comfortable
My husband, two dogs and I had such a great time at this Hipcamp. Lisa, Holly, and Brad are wonderful hosts! Lisa met us when we arrived and gave us the run down and some helpful tips for our stay. We enjoyed seeing and listening to all of the wildlife around (without it being overwhelming), exploring, and relaxing in the open space. The grass was nice and cool and there was both plenty of sun and plenty of shade for the pups. The facilities were well maintained and clean. I loved the heated shower! Lisa and Brad made our stay private and comfortable while also being available for any of our needs. They were especially accommodating to our dogs needing a slower introduction to Holly, which turned out great as they loved her company. I highly recommend this spot-we will definitely be back.

Slow Boat Farm
Genuinely could not recommend this place more. Such a huge field with great scenery, peace, and nature- the perfect place to camp. Lisa was a wonderful host- she welcomed us to the property, gave us a tour, and made us feel so welcomed. I’m fairly new to camping, but this was overall a wonderful experience.

Slow Boat Farm
We loved staying at this campsite, it was our first Hipcamp experience and they communicated well the whole time. They have a lovely space to camp, the amenities of a bathroom, shower, and campfire made the stay even better, we definitely recommend!
