Slow Boat Farm started as a 10-cow dairy in the 1930s. The modified farmhouse still stands and the base of the silo is now a fire ring. Wide open spaces, kayak launch, and small-scale farming form a unique culture at Slow Boat Farm. Camp on Puget Island, in a peaceful, pastoral setting with views of the hills and cliffs on both sides of the river. Fire ring is available year round regardless of fire bans. A large grassy field offers ample space, and a private kayak launch is a short walk through a cottonwood forest. You will enjoy a private camp spot with shade or open space, where we can accommodate multiple vehicles. Larger groups can be accommodated - contact us! Slow Boat Farm is a large meadow, five acres of grass and wide open spaces plus a great view the gorge cliffs. Camping is available late April through September 30. 2025 KEY EVENTS: July 26 - Puget Island Gardens Music Festival August 3 - Little Island Relay, Little Island Creamery.Wide open spaces, kayak launch, and small-scale farming form a unique culture at Slow Boat Farm. Even great through the autumn rain
Tent · Group trip
The site was clean and tucked away on Puget Island. Easy to access, quiet, with a friendly greeting from Brad, Lisa, and Holly. We encountered a bit of a wind/rain storm throughout our stay, but since the site was nice, it kept our spirits up and we found it to be adventurous. I would highly recommend this site, and excited to come back when the weather is a little warmer and dry.

Can’t wait to return
Tent
Brad and Lisa are amazing hosts and the spot is just perfect for a quiet getaway. We arrived after dark and it was a treat to wake up to see the cows next door. The propane shower is so refreshing and the composting toilet was clean and easy to use. Holly the dog is a sweetie pie. Our only recommendations have nothing to do with Slow Boat and just our own lack of thorough packing. Bring waterproof shoes because the tall grass is dewy in the AM. And bring layers because the wind picks up a bit at times and it can be chilly at night.

Brad & Lisa were excellent! Our group was really happy with the space. The bathroom was clean and the area was absolutely beautiful. It was nice to be on grass rather than dirt. I would definitely recommend this spot.

We loved this site. Brad, Lisa, and Holly made us feel so welcome, and were so kind as to give us produce from their land. This is a beautiful, tranquil site with plenty of privacy. The shower was excellent also.

Relaxing and delightful!

We really enjoyed staying at Slow Boat Farms. Really nice hosts, lots of space to roam. Beautiful green field to camp in and a nice fire pit. The island is quiet and that was the beauty of it…simple and relaxing.
