KING5 Evening Magazine's "The Best of the Northwest Escapes" competition voted us 2nd Best Campground. Come on out and check out the natural beauty Skokomish Park at Lake Cushman has to offer.
Skokomish Park at Lake Cushman, formerly known as Camp Cushman or Lake Cushman State Park, covers over 500 acres with three boat-launch ramps on the 41,500 feet of freshwater shoreline on Lake Cushman.
Park facilities include campsites, RV pull-thru and back-in sites, walk-in campsites, and two group camping areas. Plus, two fantastic day-use areas with picnic sites, a picnic shelter, and comfort stations located throughout the park.
The natural beauty of the area can be explored on any of our trails. The eastern part of the Olympic Peninsula has loads of great trails around us in the Olympic National Park. Trailheads nearby include Big Creek, Mount Rose, Mount Ellinor, Dry Creek, Copper Creek, Wagonwheel Lake, Staircase Rapids, Big Log Camp, and Flapjack Lakes. Mount Ellinor Trail is rated 5 stars by many.
Skokomish Park offers a serene camping experience with breathtaking views and easy access to Lake Cushman. Guests consistently praise the cleanliness of the sites and the friendly, helpful staff. While some sites are a bit small and close together, they provide a good base for exploring the park's wooded trails and waterfront activities. However, the additional charge for hot showers has been a point of disappointment for some visitors.
Great spot to camp and love the lake views. We went late September, which is later in the season. Was nice to have fewer guests around. Grateful for the WiFi to check on things when necessary
This is a nice location, but a bit small for our trailer. If you are tent camping this is a great place, plenty of things to do in the area and the waterfront activities are great. Not much of a bug problem either, considering we were on the water. I probably won't take the trailer back here, but I would come back in a tent.
The site was nice although close to the sites on either side. A quick walk to the restrooms as well as the lake. Great walking paths. Site 22 is near some standard sites with no electricity, hence some generator noise during the day. The wooded area is full of tall pines and mossy rocks - just beautiful. Sites are paved and pretty level and roads around the park are all paved. We will be back.
