The property is a flat beachfront with 200ft Columbia river frontage located on Puget Island in Cathlamet, Washington with panoramic views. 30 or 50 amp hookups. Campers can enjoy private access to beach and privacy during their stay. The island was named for Peter Puget, a lieutenant in the Vancouver Expedition of exploration, which first mapped the island in 1792. Puget Island's Robert W. Little Preserve is home to a population of endangered Columbian white-tailed deer. You can walk the beach, kayak the Columbia River, or ride bikes on miles of flat Puget Island roads. There's also hiking, swimming in the Columbia on our beach, fishing, wild life viewing that entails many bird species (hawks, eagles, white tail deer). Long Beach on the Pacific ocean is 1 hour away. During your stay, you'll even see ships cruise by very closely. The property has easily accessible no matter the size of your RV and there's plenty of room to park multiple vehicles. Private beach for ship watching

Another trip in the books at RC Island. Beautiful views, pleasant hosts, excellent accommodations. Love taking the ferry to Oregon for a fun day trip down the coast. Beautiful coastline and mountain opportunities right around the corner in Washington. No shortage of fun to be had. Highly recommend this home base, it does not disappoint. Will be coming back!

GO HERE! You won't regret it!

What an awesome campsite! It is spacious, clean, and private. The host lives next door and is friendly but not intrusive. We walked the beautiful semi-private beach as well as the quiet farm road. From the site, you can watch massive barges and ships travel by or turn your chairs around and watch horses and white tailed deer enjoy the fields. The sandy beach provides breath-taking walks and fun water play. We had an evening of wind and rain, but the views from our windows made it still enjoyable.

Pretty spot

Nice spot! Me and my friends pitched 3 small tents in the space. The compostable toilet was the cleanest/least smelly one I’ve ever used. Beach access, beautiful view, and large fire pit were all great. Spot is close to the road but barely anyone drives by, it’s a sleepy little island.

Cannot wait to go back!

Randy is an exceptional host and this is, by far, my favorite HipCamp! We had such a relaxing and fun time! The property is a perfect lowkey escape, with all of the necessities provided. (Including the impeccably clean outdoor toilet hut.) We had the honor of meeting Randy’s wife and they are an absolute joy to be around. They make you feel like family or long lost friends! I call dibs on them being my chosen cousins! The view from the campsite is breathtaking and the beach is ever changing and becomes more and more stunning as the tide recedes. Watching the different ships and boats sail by is an added bonus. The tent sites are on sand, which made it more comfortable, in my opinion. However, don’t make my mistake and opt to not pack appropriate tent stakes for the sand. I could go on and on about how wonderful this place is, and I’d like to recommend you go see for yourself….but I also want to keep this peaceful little hideaway all to myself. We took the ferry going and the bridge when we headed home to take in as much of the scenery as possible. Start to finish…lasting memories made! Thank you, RC Island!

Amazing Place!

Wonderful place for our family (and two dogs). Safe, clean, and fun. The host was great. Very helpful and gracious. Highly recommend anyone to visit.
