It all started with a surprise birthday GoatGram (Like a singing telegram, but where a guy shows up to your house in the suburbs (while you have a house full of your bible study friends) with a bouquet of goat edible flowers and two miniature goats for you to hang out with, walk around the block, and feed the bouquet to!)  IT WAS MAGIC. That night we started talking..."I want goats...I want to make goat cheese!"..."could we have a little farm?"....our oldest had JUST graduated and was moving out...maybe this was our chance!? We made a few calls, one thing lead to another, and within 4 months we had sold our home in the burbs of Vancouver, and bought a farm on a hill top in Woodland WA! We bought the farm from an older couple, who had spent their lives, planting and cultivating this land with every kind of fruit, nut, flower and vegetable you can think of. They lined the fences in grape vines, planted 2 orchards (one with chetsnuts, english and black walnuts), and the other packed with apples, pears, prunes, plums etc. Not to mention thousands of kiwi, blueberries and more. Much of the property was massively overgrown, so phase one was "take back the land!" We needed to cut back, clear out, and clean up. Phase 2 was "build it up!" We needed to fence and re-fence, repair roads, fix chimneys etc. And then finally phase 3 "Populate the Earth!" We bought mini dairy goats, standard pack goats, one donkey and then two, a couple of pigs, a dozen chickens...who knows whats next...It has been a dream to help redeem this farm. We are now in an unexpected phase 4 "Open it up and share it!"

Such a great spot. Fantastic view with plenty of fruit to pick. Hosts were very nice and friendly. The goats, donkeys, chickens, and cats were fun too! My wife and I had a great time.

This is a delightful place to stay! Beautiful, expansive views of the valley and Mt. Hood. Fruit trees all around and friendly farm animals as well (goats, kittens, etc.) The hosts are very nice and accommodating. Highly recommended!

An incredibly worthwhile trek
Bethany and Neal were excellent hosts. They were there to meet us when we got there and help us to get into the site. The site was very private and there was water and 15A hookups for power. We didn't have the right 15A adapter but Neal came to the rescue and let us borrow his. The one caveat is this: whoever is driving should bring his (or her) big boy (or girl) pants. Backing into the slot isn't for the faint of heart but it is completely worth it. The view was incredible and the hosts were great. My wife and I got to go see the goats and she got to watch the morning milking. There were blackberries and apples everywhere and they were all available and safe to eat. Delicious! You won't regret staying with Bethany and Neal.

We stayed one night and it had a really amazing view, day and night. The fruit trees everywhere was awesome to wake up to a nice little breakfast of blackberries, plums, pears and apples. The shower/bathroom was very simple. Nice for the bare necessities. Would definitely recommend to stay here.
