Horse Lovers Paradise is nestled in the beautiful Hazen Valley amongst Douglas Fir trees and a seasonal stream. Here on the ranch we provide room for campers with Tents, RV's, remote Hillside Camping and a Cozy Bunkhouse Room.
You will find the ranch peaceful and serene. Our garden/event area is prefect for children to play or gathering for a visit. There's firewood available which you may purchase here on the HipCamp site.
There are plenty of animals to love. We have horses to brush, ride and feed. You may also see a dog, cat and free-range chickens. Did I happen to mention that we have a pet pig? Yes, Miss Piggy!! We also have an area for pitching tents that sits along our seasonal stream; usually live from Nov. thru June.
We are all about the animals and hoping to create wonderful memories for you and your family.
The atmosphere at Ruff Ranch is nothing short of delightful, with visitors consistently praising the warm hospitality and the charming company of various animals. Michelle, the host, is noted for her kindness and the care she extends to both guests and animals, creating a welcoming and educational experience. Guests are particularly fond of the unique opportunities to engage with the horses and other farm animals, and they appreciate the cozy and clean accommodations. The ranch offers a chance to unwind and connect with nature under starry skies, making it a beloved choice for returning visitors.
Ruff Ranch is such a special place! Definitely earned a top spot among my favorite Hipcamps. Michelle is such a kind, intuitive person & this is mirrored through all the many marvelous animals & folks you’ll encounter here. Learned that Michelle was among the first US-based hosts on the platform & helped inform its direction — RR is truly a model example of the ideal HC experience!
My partner and I had such a fun time at Michelle’s ranch! We loved spending time with all of the horses and different animals, and Michelle even let us give them some midnight snacks. We will absolutely be back, and I can’t recommend this place enough.
We had such an amazing time at Michelle’s Bunkhouse! The room was spotless, cozy, and stayed nice and cool. It was amazing to have such proximity to all the animals, who were all friendly and so lovable. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the barn shower, but it ended up being one of the warmest and most fun showers I’ve ever had. We saw the Milky Way and a distant thunderstorm thanks to the dark skies. We will be back as soon as possible!
This was our second visit to the bunkhouse and we can’t wait to visit again! Michelle has created a wonderful space to relax, spend time with the animals, and feel like a part of the ranch. We got a chance to see how the horses are cared for and to learn about the equine therapy hosted onsite. My daughter definitely didn’t want to leave. I highly recommend the experience!
Great person, bigger than I anticipated. Her dogs are super friendly... along with the barn cats. Highlight is riding the horse. It was my first time and loved it
The bed was comfortable and they have a pull out couch bed. The bunk house stayed cozy warm at night. The staff was really friendly and they take care of other animals besides horses. We enjoyed visiting with Michelle and look forward to a return trip. Go and see GUS the shire horse.
