Mixed feelings about this spot. We arrived at 7pm with what sounded like a family party happening at the host’s house with lots of kids. We didn’t meet the host until after 9pm, as we were winding down for bed… but his party was not. He offered to start a fire for us, though there was a burn ban in effect. His party kicked up after that, playing some John Wayne movie on full blast until 10.
Yes, the host discloses that you’re in his yard, that quiet hours start at 10, and this is not a secluded site. But he also promises privacy and this didn’t feel private. It was a louder night than we’ve experienced at crowded campgrounds.
On the plus side, the tent is relatively well furnished (3rd sleeper needs to bring their own sleeping bag) and it was handy to have a power supply. We spotted a coyote in the morning, and
the wider Marrowstone Island has some fine sites to see.
