This campsite is on the Coweeman River, 16 miles east of Interstate 5, on Rose Valley Rd, Kelso, WA. A pool deep/large enough for swimming makes it a wonderful summer retreat. Caution: wet rocks are as slick as ice! There is only one site on this property so your party will have it to yourselves. A fire pit, with on site firewood available for purchase, provides warmth after your dip in the cool water. A picnic table is under a 13' X 13' pop up awning. The driveway terminates in a cul de sac; an area large enough for any vehicle to turn around. A trailer is fine if small enough to be unhitched and turned around by hand. There is a large flat area for parking/tents. Non digging, well mannered dogs are allowed (2 maximum) provided their responsible owners clean up after them. A new nifty outhouse has a great view! Rose Valley Road follows the Coweeman River, has little traffic, and may serve as a nice hike/bike up or down stream. We have another well reviewed Hipcamp just downstream (out of sight and sound); search Snail's Pace. Read 'Host's Rules' under During Your Trip below before booking. Notice: Weyerhaeuser Timber Company owns most of the adjacent lands and is planning on raping (their term is 'harvesting') 100 acres close to our property this summer ('25). Our normally quiet site might become a bit noisy on weekdays after they start. The location 'pinned' on the Hipcamp map is not totally accurate. You will receive the precise location, driving directions and instructions on how to unlock the driveway gate in an automated message 48 hours prior to your stay. Happy Hipcamping!
RV details
Pop-up campers, Campervans, and Cars allowed
The driveway ends in a cul de sac; an approximately 100' open aera, circular in shape. There is plenty of room for an SUV/small truck to turn around in this diameter. Larger vehicles (as an F-250) would have to make a 3 point turn. A trailer that could be disconnected from the towing vehicle and turned around by hand is suitable for this campsite.
Vehicles under 20 feet allowed
Turn around at the cul de sac at the driveway's end.
