This magical 40-acre cultivated ecosystem will wrap around you and leave you enchanted. Enjoy this peaceful retreat site truly a place to rest and reconnect with the earth and yourself. We are closed from September 1st until May 1st but our BnB is open search for The Grand Room at Simplicity Sanctuary to stay on the land in the colder months. A great place to stop for the night but one day will not be enough to wander the grounds, drink a cup of hot tea from the herb garden, sit on a bench talking to ancient trees, walk the labyrinth, wander the sacred Grove, and camp under the stars. There's so much to see here from the rose and vegetable gardens to the orchards and sheep. Spend the morning sipping tea in the greenhouse, an afternoon walking the gardens, and an evening watching the moon and stars from the observatory platform. Take a tour or a workshop and learn to spin yarn from our Icelandic sheep. bring your knitting, bring friends, or just a book and spend a few days here on the land. Contact us about small gatherings and retreats We love to host groups. NOTE: This is a working farm we have animals, dirt, sticks, bugs, and poop, and lots of opportunities to "connect" with Nature. All of our amenities are shared spaces, designed to foster community. You will find good signs with clear communication here. All of our lodgings are off-grid with no electricity or running water. Water, electricity, and wifi are available in the kitchen, garden, cafe, and lounge areas. Please bring battery-operated lights, bedding, and a pillow, unless otherwise noted. We request that campers check in before 8 pm. Remember you are coming to someone's home, Please communicate if you are coming in late so we can accommodate you. We have tent camping, glamping, and cabins available from May to September. We also offer tours of the animals and gardens by arrangement. Amenities include a showerhouse, bathhouse, semi-commercial kitchen, library, cafe, fiber studio, yarn shop, and plenty of outdoor seating. Additionally, we have safe potable water, 2 portable toilets, a hand washing station, and two charcoal/wood barbeques available for your use.

Aloha
Great Stay, Friendly Animals
Lateen was a great host. We came on a busy weekend and had a great time. The trailer was very comfortable and the rest of the farm had plenty of space to walk, relax, and cook.

Sitka tenting site
I completely enjoyed my stay Kateen. So much so that I changed my travel plans to stay on her property longer. My first site was Alder, then I moved to Sitka. Sitka is a quieter site where other campers don’t walk past. It’s in its own little nook. I appreciated the wood chips underlaying my tent. It helped to keep my tent cleaner and it was softer than packed earth. The porta potties were clean and the shower was lovely. The well equipped outdoor kitchen was fabulous ! And the land itself is very well stewarded in addition to an abundant garden. Definitely more sanctuary than any campground I’ve been in.

Cotton Cabin
We booked last minute & Kateen was very quick to respond and accommodate us! The farm is absolutely beautiful and every feature is so thoughtful, I could spend hours exploring and enjoying all that is to offer. The ducks and turkeys are a fun & friendly welcome committee & the orchards and veggie garden is a joy to spend time & collect from. The outdoor shower is one of the most beautifully designed I’ve ever seen. The cotton cabin was comfy enough and nice & secluded in the grove of trees. There were a few other guests there during our stay but everyone was very respectful and the farm is big enough to feel like alot of your time can be spent privately if needed. Overall if you’re looking for a tranquil escape for deep introspection/connection with nature & to still enjoy Port Townsend just 20 minutes away this is the place for you! Thank you Kateen for running the farm like a champ and sharing this beautiful piece of land with all of us!

Pearl
Loved the farm and how all the ducks, geese and turkeys had free reign. Every creature was happy and healthy! And the Pearl was vintage cozy 🤗

Pearl
Perl is comfy
Perl the camper is very comfy, and the property is very beautiful. I never met or saw anyone during my short stay, but kateen sent some helpful texts. I dont recommend any of the add-ons as there were few pickable/edible fruits and flowers and no one to ask about it.

Hanna
Crystals Paradise
My husband and I returned to Compass Rose Farms several days after leaving and going to a nearby state park. We were dissappointed by what we found and cancelled 2nd night and returned to Kateen’s and rented The Hannah for 1 night. I liked that trailer best because it had the little table and benches to sit at, although we spent more time in the library. The garden was amazing also and walked around and looked at all the produce. The other guests were wonderful and welcoming. My first experience with a Hip Camp, and was fantastic.
