Camp Keyser is a wooded 5 acre parcel in the mountains, near mountain loop highway - in the center of everything wonderful in the northern cascade mountains. We have one private cabin and 6 campsites. Tent campers will enjoy the lush landscape of a mature forest with sites along the (seasonal) Thirsty Creek. Nearby (3 minute walk), users can contemplate views of Whitehorse Mountain, Jumbo Mountain, Glacier Peak, and Whitechuck Mountain. This part of the Stillaguamish valley and the adjacent Mountain Loop Highway is known for a great selection of hiking trails, at all skill levels. It is perfect hub for all of your outdoor interests. The trailhead for the summit of Whitehorse Mountain is just a mile away, as is Old Mine Road trail (45 minute hike ending in 2 waterfalls). A 15-20 minute walk takes campers to a swimming hole in the cool Stillaguamish river for a dip or a paddle. Even closer is Whitehorse Regional Trail (great for biking, walking and horseback riding) built on the bed of the former BNSF railroad through the North Stillaguamish River Valley, spanning over 27 miles. The nearly level trail meanders through the valley, rewarding visitors with picturesque, landscape views of forests, farmland, streams and rivers, and mountain vistas. Sites have a generous fire pit and access to a Porta-Potty. For bathing I recommend cool dip in the Stillaguamish River. In season there is also fishing, snowshoeing, concerts at the blue grass festival grounds, a rodeo, and so much more.

Site 6- Tent
Private, quiet, GREEN
Steve's spot was well maintained, quiet, and scenic. The sites were just a bit smaller than we expected from the photos, but we were able to fit 3 tents into the space for our group of 4. There was a fire ring and picnic table provided, in condition, which was a bonus. The porta-pottie provided near the parking area was probably the cleanest I've ever seen! I think we were lucky not all the sites were booked as it might have been a little noisy if we had neighbors on all sides. We really appreciated the info posted at the parking area as well, and walked down to the river via Whitehorse trail. There were beautiful views of the surrounding mountains from the adjacent road and we really felt like we had the place to ourselves! Lastly, this hipcamp is very convenient to Darrington and surrounding areas, directions were easy to follow to find the camp. We met Steve towards the beginning of our stay and appreciated the friendly welcome!!

Great time in the woods!
I had a wonderful time at the cabin. It felt secluded yet safe for me as a single woman. Went walking along the river and enjoyed the campfire. The host was friendly, helpful and nearby if needed. Will definitely return.

Site 7- Tent
Easy to find. Good family spot. Fairly private, compared to some of the other spots. Some wood was left for us when we arrived. Only issue was a house that wasn't too far away that played really loud music throughout the night.

Site 2- Trailer/Tent
The Sweet Spot
We had a great time at Site 2 at Steve's campsite! The site was spacious, clean, and the fire pit grill and picnic table were nice amenities. We walked to the swimming holes, and while it was a bit too cold for us to want to swim, it would be amazing in warmer weather! Steve stopped by with his friendly pup to chat for a bit. Depending on the type of vehicle that drove by, it did get a bit loud at times, but it was infrequent and didn't impact our experience. I would recommend staying here if you want the luxuries of a campground without large numbers of people! We'll be back!

Site 6- Tent
Minus the rain, we enjoyed our stay and wished we could’ve experienced more from the site (and surrounding area). The campsite was well maintained and easy to navigate. The only negatives were the proximity to the road and some very loud cars and a dog that barked nonstop at night. If you’re not a fan of dogs or are planning to stay at this site with a reactive dog, I would let Steve know ahead of time as his (very friendly dog) was off leash.
