Calm Waters offers a peaceful and secluded camping experience with site 4 being a favorite for its privacy and spaciousness under the trees. Campers appreciate the clean porta potty and the easy access to the nearby river, which is perfect for a quick swim or relaxing by the water. Proximity to Forks and the Hoh Rainforest makes it a convenient base for exploring the area. While the site can be tricky to find in the dark, the tranquility and natural beauty more than compensate for this minor inconvenience.
We arrived a little late due to a busy day of hiking and driving so we arrived close to dark and wished we would have had more time to explore the area and the river. Site 4 is tucked away and private. The porta potty was spotless and clean. One of the cleanest I have ever been in. Great experience.
The site was nice, quiet & private. We enjoyed swimming in the creek. We were lucky to meet the guests in site 2 shortly after we arrived as we were making the required trek to haul our camping supplies from the remote parking to site 3. They welcomed us to drive through their site & park near our tent space. This actually provided much better privacy for all 3 sites & seemed like a better way to manage the shared space.
Last minute booking, it was just what we needed. You can hear the road a little bit, but you can also hear the river! Simply lovely. Decorative flowers, picnic table, and fire pit were a great touch.
