Set in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains near Roanoke, VA, we offer a 17ft bell tent nestled among mountain laurel and lush ferns along a creek bed on our very private four acre property. Ideal as a retreat for couples, writers, artists, nature lovers, hikers, bicyclists and wildlife enthusiasts. The tent offers a king-sized bed, outdoor fireplace, tent stove, upscale decor, full outdoor shower facility, composting toilet, separate pop-up private bathroom tent, and outdoor chaise lounge. Please note: there is not electricity on the site, although the outdoor bathroom has full plumbing. The site is 400 ft from the parking area and there are are six steps up a hill (see photos), so those that have mobility issues may not enjoy the stay. The driveway is rough, we're working on it. Please see full descriptions, photos, amenities before booking. We are happy to offer many amenities that most sites do not. Please message for more details/questions.

Yellow Mountain Hideaway
This hideaway was absolutely perfect for us! Private and romantic with a very big and comfortable bed (felt amazing after tent camping on the ground), The tent is spacious and has a porch where you can enjoy the creek and mountainside. Jules also provides an outdoor shower/bathroom area with heated water and room to change clothes comfortably. Highly recommend for anyone needing to disconnect!

Magical tent in the mountains
Jules is a kind and thoughtful host and she made us feel more than comfortable during our stay. She provides almost anything you can think of and creatively decorated the entire space, making it feel even cozier. The bed is super comfortable and I will say.. I slept better than I do in my own bed! We loved meeting and talking to Jules and we will definitely be back next year!

Weekend in the Woods
Secluded tent site in a beautiful natural setting. Accommodating hosts were thoughtful and helpful. Close to Roanoke but out of the fray. A very unique experience and a nice change from the typical hotel choices. Mini wood stove in the tent took the chill out of the air. Many nice touches.

A little slice of heaven
Such a lovely hideaway! The host is so gracious and thoughtful. Every modern convince met without electricity. Indoor heat in a tent, how ingenious! A full-fledged coffe pot that works on the camp stove. If you could think it, it was there. Decorated with such a loving touch, each individual piece creating such an aesthetic flow of romance and a feeling of stepping into a timeless realm. You don't need to bring a thing but your toothbrush. Nestled in the heart of nature, running creek below, nothing but the sights and sounds of creation. A glorious trip to a little slice of heaven on earth. Such a treasure!

Beautiful tent and wonderful/helpful host. Just had a walk a little extra between tent and the bathroom area but the place was pretty amazing in the nature!

Yellow Mountain Hideaway
A really unique and comfortable stay! Jules made this campsite so beautiful and comfortable for us. She went above and beyond with the amenities that were offered at this site including a compostable toilet, and running water for a sink and shower. In the tent there were so many little touches like electric candles, and a battery operated coffee maker that really made the stay so special. I would highly recommend this site to anyone who is looking to stay in this area!
