Please note that we have a new entrance. 9337 Bridgeport Road. New driveway is just beyond the old one on the right. Look for the aluminum canoe sign at the edge of the drive way. Riverfront camping at its finest . Bateau boats pass by all 3 campsites on the third Thursday ofJune. This is due to a yearly Festival held in Scottsville where Historic river boats that used to haul goods up and down the river back in the day are maned by people in period clothing re-enacting the route that was taken. Smallmouth and catfish are biting Go by a local store and buy night crawlers worms and a pack of 2/0 hooks and you will catch something . You can now buy river tubes from the host. We will pump them up and deliver to your site. Fire wood also available delivered. 30.00 for UTV LOAD. Accessible by car or canoe, East End at Seven Islands provides endless fun for the whole family, including your well behaved off-leash dogs. When you arrive take a cooling dip in a quiet “river pool”, relax on your private beach, or see if the fish are biting. Let your kids experience the best the river has to offer by exploring the shallows for crayfish, chasing minnows, or watching for Bald Eagles patrolling the river. Pitch your tent on the beach or under the trees if you prefer some shade. Spend your nights stargazing, enjoying a campfire (remember to bring s’mores ingredients), or fishing for catfish. This is an ideal family-oriented campsite about an hour NW of Richmond. Come, enjoy and make some memories! Children 10 and under are free. The real estate sign at the entrance is for the farm house only. Camp sites are not for sale and won’t be. Future bookings are no problem Safety Notice: Not accessible by boat, canoe, or kayak when the James River level is 6 feet or higher at Scottsville. At 7.5 - 8 feet, there is not much beach to play on and the river is too dangerous to navigate. You can drive in and camp, but please stay clear of all water activities, including fishing, in these dangerous conditions.

Relaxing and tons of privacy

We loved our trip to Seven Islands. There were a couple other campers during our stay but we never heard them--the space is very isolated. The ground is level, not too hard, and has a nice shaded area. The swing and beach area were hits for our two young kids. We also enjoyed the second fire pit right along the river.

Site 1

This was a great piece of land to stay in, site 1 is definitely the best site, especially if you want easy access to river. The site is set up very nicely and we pulled in a 20ft camper trailer with our truck. You definitely need to keep an eye out for the weather as this site does flood the banks of the water is too high. This trip the water was reading 4.17’ in Scottsville. The water is a bit swifter on this part of the river, we did kayak, but you do need upper body strength to battle some parts, stay close to the Eddie’s if you want to work your way up the river. We saw many kayakers floating the river coming from Hardware and getting it at Bremo Bluff. We had a nice lunch on the river and then solo stove sitting at the rivers edge to finish off dinner and an amazing sunset. We saw a few a few deer, a raccoon, some field mice and an actual pileated woodpecker! The lightening bugs also gave us a wonderful show! The sure is very clean and remote. We’ll be back! And bringing the family along next time!

This was such a great spot for camping! It was so indescribably beautiful and very private and quiet. The water was perfect for swimming and there was plenty of space to spread out. The only bad thing was how many ticks were around!

Site 3 weekend

We absolutely loved our time on Michael’s spot! When we arrived his wife was unloading our wood bundle we purchased through them and she gave us all the ins and outs of the place. Beautiful scenery of the James River and so much space on each site! Our dog Ghost was able to live his best off leash life while visiting due to the space and privacy. We’ll definitely be back. 😁

Perfect

Just as I hoped! I stayed at space 2 and absolutely loved it. The seclusion combined with options for both sun and shade and river access was perfect. I drove in rather than paddle. There is a fire-ring and a picnic table. For what it is worth, my Google maps missed the address by about 1/8 mile, so if you just pay attention, you'll see Hipcamp signs by the road. I would return for sure!
