A rare undeveloped bayfront lot with sandy beach on the southern tip of Mathews County, VA sits next to our beach house (which is also available to rent). The campsite is set back among the trees but with plenty of water views and just steps to dipping your toes in the Chesapeake! The site is just a short stroll to the Mew Point Comfort Lighthouse lookout walkway, or paddle to it does a special view accessible only by water! We love this spot because it feels like another world just a short drive from RVA, Norfolk or NOVA. If you love the water and want a unique spot, this is the site. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent on our waterfront lot on the Chesapeake Bay! Enjoy direct access to the water, bring your kayak or paddle board and cruise on down to New Point Comfort Lighthouse by day. By night, warm up by the fire pit, enjoy the star-filled skies untainted by city lights and fall asleep to the sound of the gentle waves. Our lot offers wooded or beach tent sites. You will also have access to an outdoor bathroom (with toilet and shower). Please note- there is no toilet/shower access December through February. Please use proper camping “leave no trace” protocol when nature calls.

Camp on Chesapeake Bay
Incredible views and beachfront!
Can’t beat the location! I have been looking for a place to camp right t on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay and this was a perfect spot. Tracey was a very hospitable host, and even left me some firewood for their new fire pit. The location is on the grounds of a beach cottage, but there was nobody staying there at the time so it was pretty private. Access to a bathroom and shower was a huge plus. I brought my kayak and was able to easily put it in from the beach right by the campsite. Maneuvering my camper van in was a little tricky, but there was a older concrete slab that provided a nice flat and stable place for it. The site is located in a small beachfront community but at this time of year there was really nobody around. I was able to paddle down the shore to the New Comfort Point lighthouse which is just off the coast which was pretty cool experience. If you are looking for a nice spot to camp right on the water, then this is a great location.
