This is a custom build cabin with many amenities located just in the mountains next to the Maury River in Virginia. Our Retreat is near state parks, ski areas, hiking trails and the scenic historic town of Lexington, Virginia. Whether you love to fish, hike, ski, snowboard, kayak or even rock climb, our retreat is within an hour of many attractions and natural beauty. If you are looking for a quiet, serene place to chill out, watch wildlife, take leisurely walks or traverse a mountain, everything you need is within reach. The river is glorious and the mountain views spectacular. The area is safe, private, quaint, and pristine. The cabin is super clean, comfortable and cozy. There is a hot tub and river access. You can relax on the screened in porch and watch for bear and deer while you are sipping your morning coffee or having dinner under the stars. A sleeping swing on the porch is available should you opt for an even more rustic experience with lighting bugs and the calming sounds of crickets, the river and occasional bull frog.Retreat by the Rivah is a custom built cabin nestled in the woods by the Maury River. It is surrounded by mountains and wildlife. We offer many amenities for you to enjoy while also having a deeply natural experience in the woods. There is a private river access with lounging rocks, paddleboard and kayak for guest use, a local "blue hole" for swimming and tubing. We are 5 miles from Goshen State Park, Jump Mountain and many other hiking trails. Historic Lexington, Virginia is only 15 miles away, so this is perfect for W&L and VMI students and their families. The Lexington Horse Center is about 12 miles to the East. Day trips to ski resorts like Massanutten and Snow Shoe are easily accessible. The Homestead in Hot Springs is about an hour away, with a lovely scenic drive. Natural Bridge State Park is only a 30 minute drive. There are so many activities and historic places to visit. But if you just want quiet serenity, downtown to unplug, you will find it at this retreat.
