Pactamere Farm
Pactamere Farm was wonderful!! If you're used to camping in state/national parks, you might miss the freedom to just roam and hike when you get up, but this was a lovely experience I highly recommend if you're up for a change of pace. You're literally sleeping in the alpacas' fenced off field, so they're there when you wake up and wandering around all day. It was truly delightful. Eric was a great host.. we were away for most of the daytimes, but we got in after dark the day we checked in, and Eric met us at our car, let us in through the gate and gave us the lay of the land pretty thoroughly before we set up camp. There's a bathroom and potable water (honestly, really good water) available, and Eric offered to bring us food to feed the alpacas in the morning, which would've been really fun if we'd been around! We saw a young girl and her mom having a blast one of ours mornings there as we were rushing off to play golf. There was a great fire pit for us at our site and plenty of scrap wood laying around to make a fire. We had a little gas stove, but if you're planning on cooking over a fire, just know that there isn't a grill top (that I saw, but we also didn't ask, since we had other means).

this was such a lovely experience! i was just passing through the area and camped here one night, but now i definitely want to come back! i was so delighted by the company of friendly alpacas. the pasture was very spacious to choose a spot and overall a very peaceful area. if you’re hesitant, don’t be! Eric and his mother were wonderful hosts as well.

Great spot/people/alpacas
I can’t say enough good things about this spot. Eric and his family were amazing hosts. Eric’s mom gave me an entire run down on how they process the alpaca coats and the different things they use it for. I had so much fun with her. The yarn from the herd is BEAUTIFUL, I highly recommend asking about it if you’re a knitter or crocheter. Parking the car and setting up camp in the pen with the alpacas was super fun. They’re a sweet herd, and love eating out of your hand. There’s a local brewery close by that was great. I also hit up two knitting shops in the area. I’ll definitely be back to this spot again. I want to be there for one of the outdoor movie nights!

Fun family camping
Our family thoroughly enjoyed camping with ALPACAS!! Such a unique experience. We booked last minute but Eric was very accommodating, came out to greet us and get us settled, and helped our two girls feed the Alpacas. Great family experience and we look forward to doing it again.

Alpacaventure!
What a great trip. Eric came down and greeted us, was very friendly. His mom showed me around the barn, showed the process of harvesting the wool, and gave plenty of great alpaca facts! Would go again in a heartbeat, highly recommend.
