Located less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, this little hayfield is nestled just a skip away from Mabry Mill (the most photographed spot on the parkway), Villa Appalachia (quant Italian style winery), Chateau Morrisette (larger tourist winery), Nancy's Fudge (a little candy factory and shop), and hiking trails of varying lengths with epic views (Black Ridge Trail and Rock Castle Gorge Trail). Each of these is under 5 miles from our camp spot. Yet, if you are also hoping to hop out of your camper and WALK somewhere, there is a hike that leads you directly up to Chateau Morissette. The property itself is a hayfield that typically has a couple of cuttings each summer. There just happens to be a full hook up campsite located at the edge of the property that someone should be enjoying. The property owner (my dad, who is in his mid 70s and doesn't internet so well) lives in a log home that is across the field on the adjacent property. He is probably going to stop by to say hi. We had a quiet, cozy Thanksgiving at this site. The Hosts are always so easy to work with and the view is spectacular. We will definitely be coming back in the spring!

It was so beautiful and peaceful. Much needed for our family. We ventured down to explore Floyd and love the doghouse pizza! we also hiked to the winery from the camp, great walk, we had a bunch of fun. We definitely plan on coming back.

We enjoyed our stay!

We had a great visit to this site. Overlooking the Blue Ridge Parkway and tremendous views of the valley below, we enjoyed the fire pit and the peace and quiet this site offers. WiFi was also very nice to have. Communication and instruction from the host were excellent, and we visited both nearby wineries and the nearby town of Floyd. One thing to note: the site is ~150 feet behind an occupied house, so if you want true privacy and seclusion, this may not be your site. Other than a couple cars coming and going, it was just fine for us.

Nice and quiet! A bit windy while we were there at the end of October. We enjoyed learning to ride our brand new e-bikes on their property. Drove to Maybry Mill.

Amazing Location

22 ft campervan

What beautiful property! Conveniently located to Blue Ridge Pkwy & Mabry Mill. Meadows of Dan only 7 minute drive away with a few local shops, coffee, & a couple of places to eat. Amazing stargazing at night, if it’s clear. We had a very relaxing time! Wish we could have stayed longer!
